Y/NS POV
caitys at school and i guess i slept through it so i look at my phone and see she texted me saying not to worry she took the bus and i deserve the sleep i smile and walk downstairs when i hear giggling and smile at the sight of rhea showing the twins how to pet the dogs as it's there first time petting one

a few minutes before
RHEAS POV
i'm sitting on the couch watching tv and i can already tell caity doesn't like me after that mean side eye she gave me as she left but about 30 minutes after she left the twins run downstairs all giddy and it makes me
smile cus they most certainly represent y/n but i hear barry and luna whine and see they pulled some fur out petting luna and pet barry to hard "hey you don't do that to animals" they look at me "come here" they do and i start showing them how to pet the dogs i take zachs hand and gently move it along barry's fur and he giggles "and you do the same thing with luna" and then i do it with luna and repeat the process with caity and watch them pet the dogs and then i look up and see y/n "hey" "hey" i smile "your good with them" "i thought it'd be good for them to know how to pet an animal" "ya they have never had an animal before i was waiting till later on when they are older for a pet" i nod "i made breakfast" "oh" she runs out to the kitchen and i hear her moan as she takes a bite of bacon "oh how i've missed your cooking" i smile "well it's a good thing im here" she nods and takes more bacon "your lucky everyone ate" she giggles and sits down next to me to watch the twins with the dogs "so cute" i nod "they look just like you" "i know" we watch how gentle barry's being especially for his size and we can tell zach likes barry more and liz likes luna more "i think they might steal my dogs" she giggles and i just look at her and smile remembering how her giggle used to light up my day hell it still does but there's no way i'm getting her back especially if her oldest doesn't trust me "so caity doesn't like me" "ya she knows everything" i nod "she'll come around rhea" "ya" "especially once she sees how good you are with them" i nod and we keep watching the twins till she falls asleep on my shoulder and then soon after the twins cuddle up with us zach on my lap and liz on hers cuddled into both our chests and fall asleep and i let a tear slip as i wish now that this was a family i helped her build but it's not im just the lady that stepped in for a little while and i soon doze off
