Chapter 2

Up high on the cold mountains of Gusu, lies the Lan Clan. A serene, beautifully cold, silent, elegant place. The place speaks calmness yet strictness too. It looks like the snow has gifted a glittering layer of itself on the Lan Clan making it seem like an abode of snow.

A 6 year old boy, wearing baby blue robes, white ribbon with cloud pattern on it, was kneeling in front of the Gentian house, the house which was once the source of his happiness (even though he didn't show it)was now silent, his mother didn't come outside to welcome him, she didn't open her door, she didn't come to pick him up with her beautiful pretty smile and open arms, she didn't tease him with different names. It was just pure silence like there was no one in that house to begin with. He was Lan Zhan, courtesy Lan Wangji, second Lan jade of Lan Clan, Gusu. Too young to comprehend that his mother was no longer there to open that door.

With teary eyes, he asked his brother Lan Xichen, "dada did I do something wrong to upset or make aniang angry?" . Lan Xichen was heartbroken, how could he tell his didi that  their mother was no more, that their was no one now to open the Gentian house. It has been just few time since his uncle Lan Qiren called him in the Orchid room and told him about their mother passing away, his whole world shattered, after their father's seclusion, they both were only able to see their mother once in a month, and they were more than happy to always wait for that one chance, that one day when they were able to see their mother, but now, even this chance was cruelly snatched away by fate, he cried in front of his uncle, bcs he knew that he couldn't break down in front of his didi, he had to be strong enough for his did, to make him understand that the Gentian house has now become like its name, 'the silent house'.

But now, seeing his didi blaming himself for doing something he didn't do, and feeling guilty about it so that he can ask for forgiveness from his mother. And him not being able to explain to his didi was way much more heartbreaking than he thought. He couldn't say anything, so he kneeled beside his didi and cried, he cried bcs at the end he was also a child.

Lan Wangji couldn't understand as to why his dada was crying but if his strong dada is crying it means something very bad had happened. He couldn't understand but seeing his dada like this, only meant that something has happened to their mother. And seeing his dada crying he too cried.

In a distance, Lan Qiren standing behind the two children, crying softly and mourning silently for his sister-in-law. He knew the relationship between them weren't on best terms, but atleast they could speak without always arguing. And he wouldn't admit it, but he too felt good arguing and being teased. But now there was no one who would tease him, no one to argue with for baseless things.

~~~9 months later~~~

Days became months, Lan Zhan still waited patiently for his mother to open the door, his dada did tell him that their mother has 'gone' . At first he couldn't understand, so his dada told, "my dear didi, aniang has gone to a very far away place, and she is happy there. She won't come again, but she would always see them through the stars". But he was still determined that aniang will return, but she never did...

As Lan Wangji grew up he finally understood what his brother meant, that her mother was dead, she was never going to return. He cried again for the last time in Jingshi. His world turned cold and colourless. He secluded himself from everyone, went into 1 year seclusion.

After he came back, after he healed himself, he held a meeting, with himself.

He thought that his mother would never be happy, if he kept being always gloomy. His mother wanted him to be happy, she wanted him to live freely. And so that is what he did. But he also realised that if you love someone deeply, you hv to bound them with u, u hv to keep them with u, even if it means to keep them by force. Bcs if ur loved ones are far from u, then u will loose them just like how he lost his aniang. But for that he has to be stronger.

He became possessive and obsessive of his things. He never played with any of the children of his age bcs he thought that they will take away his toys, also bcs he thought that they were boring. He was already bullied earlier for being cold and aloof. But now if anyone bullied him, he would snatch their toys or beat them but not that much severely as to how much they used to bully him.

As time passed by, he became more naughty, he would pull-up pranks on everyone, on teacher, students and even on grandmaster LAN QIREN!

Lan Qiren knew of Wangji's growing possessive and obsessive behaviour, he knew that this was a Lan's instinct but he didn't knew it would take effect just so fast. Also Wangji's growing naughtiness was creating a headache to him.

Last month, one day he was woken of by crockling sounds, to his suprise when he opened his eyes, there was a frog on his chest, looking directly to him, on turning his head he found frogs whole around his room, that was the worst day of him trying to get rid of those slimy creatures. Another day someone shaved off his beard, he doesn't know if his sister-in-law and his old friend are taking revenge on them or what!, he shivered on his own assumption. Xichen's favourite tea shelf was filled with paintings of god knows what creatures!! His brushes were ripped from middle, 3 layers of under robes missing, one found near the water fall, one in the back mountains, and one on the gates of cloud recesses. There were times even the teachers and students were so embarrassed that they would cry.

Later when they found the culprit to be Lan Wangji, they were suprised to say would be an understatement, to say they were utterly shocked! But Lan Qiren at some point also had this predicted. He was even close to having Qi deviation. It was just bcs of Xichen who calmed him down. But in a fit of rage he ordered Wangji 3 year of seclusion in hope that the calmness will help to concentrate and increase his cultivation, stable his mind and control his actions.

LAN WANGJI!!!!

Yep! U guessed it right, nothing worked, yes his cultivation level did reach a very high level, he did became a lot stronger and even his golden core had already been much stronger than any of the child of his age. But along with it, his naughtiness also got increased. Although his possessive and obsessive behaviour did get suppressed much.

Back to point, just after Lan Wangji came out of seclusion he again started causing trouble, at this rate Lan Qiren just wanted to ship and sell off his younger nephew!!! He couldn't handle anymore of his prankings!!!!

The second part is here. Many of the readers may be confused. So I just want to clarify one thing that, the first chapter I wanted to give an intro of Wei Ying's street life before he got found by Jiang Fengbim. And it was supposed to be an intro chapter of our Xianxian, but then I thought to make it up as a chapter. And in this second chapter I wanted to give the intro of Lan Zhan, but since here I had Lan Zhan's character changed from aloof to naughty, so I had to skip some time lines to make u understand his real nature in this book, and how he bacame more naughty, so that it will be useful to understand the coming chapters. If u could still not understand, no problem in that, in the next coming chapters u will slowly be able to understand it.
