Once we arrive at school Chase heads inside while I pretend to be fixing my make-up. Then as soon as he's out of sight I walk towards the forest. I've gotta make sure to lookout for any signs of mutated wolves.
As I'm walking around I start to smell something strange. It's the smell of blood, no mistaking it. Although I smell something else mixed in. I can't quite make it out but, it smells like it might be some sort of chemical.
I follow the smell to a small clearing. In the middle is the messed up corpse of a wolf. It was annihilated doing who knows what. There's something strange about this wolf.
It's a werewolf but he hasn't shifted back to human form. Normally when a werewolf is killed they shift back to human form. Something's not right.
I walk up to the body and pull out a syringe from my bag. I carefully take a sample of his blood and put the syringe in a zip-loc bag. I pull out my spare phone and take a few pictures.
I'll have to take this to Rick when I can. Something is seriously wrong here. I take a look around the area but, there are no signs of struggle. It doesn't look like he was in a fight. Just how did he end up like this?
In this distance I can hear the rustling of leaves. Hopefully doing the smart thing I decide to leave. Maybe I should show this to Chase. As I'm heading back the way I came from I hear the rustling again.
I quicken my pace but, the sound also quickens. I can't tell what it is by the sound but it sounds heavy. I spot a large tree and pull myself up onto a thick branch.
I pull out the daggers that were hidden in my shoes and prepare to strike. I sensed it getting closer and my muscles tensed. Then I caught the scent.
I was shocked at what the scent was. It smelled dead. This is the smell of something that's been dead for a long time. Why the hell does it smell like this.?
I spot movement and look towards the bush it came from. Then I see one of the most disgusting things ever. It's another one of those wolves but, alive. Its disfigured just like the other one.
There's blood all over it with small spots of fur sticking out. Its a werewolf too but, why does it look like this? Is someone bringing them back to life or is something not happening the way it should?
It starts to smell the air. Crap! It noticed me. As it looks up I throw myself down at it. I dig my daggers into its back. I'm not sure if this will kill it but, it'll hopefully injure it.
The wolf howls in pain. Good, the daggers hurt it. Its not dead yet but, I intend to not let it roam around these woods. The wolf swings itself around throwing me against a tree. I feel a burst of pain on my left shoulder.
I should be fine it'll probably start to heal. In times like this I'm grateful that I'm a werewolf. I'd probably be dead right now if I wasn't. I look up and immediately roll away from the wolf.
It tried to bite at me but, I kept jumping backwards. I see something shining in the light and realize my daggers are still in its back. If I can grab them I might be able to kill it.
I dash towards the wolf and jump right before I'm about to make contact. As I jump over it I reach for the daggers. I'm able to grab a hold of them and yank them out of its back.
As I land I hear it howl as it feels the pain of the now removed daggers. Now I have to land the blades in it head and the area where it's heart should be. These should be the most likely points of disorientation and death. If I can kill it I should be able to get fresher samples.
The wolf sprints towards me once more and I lunge at it, aiming for its head. That's the easy part because I easily land a clean blow to its head. Now striking at its heart is going to be harder.
I only have one dagger now so if I mess this up I'll have to run. Maybe I'll be able to shift fast enough to escape but, I need this sample. It turns realizing what I've done. The wolf starts shaking its head trying to dislodge the dagger.
Angry, it growls at me and starts to dash back towards me. I run at it and slide as soon as it's about two feet away from me. I grasp the dagger with both hands and stab at its heart. As I do this some strange fluid flows out.
As I turn around I look to find that the wolf has stopped completely. Its practically frozen in place. I get up and approach it carefully. It turns its head slightly and looks at me. It eyes look sympathetic yet happy. Maybe I'm setting it free of this horrible fate.
Then out of nowhere the wolf screeches in pain, making me jump back in a defensive stance. Although, it doesn't do anything it just drops to the ground. I get closer to see if it's still breathing. Nothing.
It's dead but, it's a werewolf. Shouldn't he turn back? At least his body finally matches the state he's in. What did this to him?
I look for my bag which fell off when I slid under the wolf. I pull out another syringe and take the sample. It looks different than the other sample. I guess it varies depending on time of death. Meaning the other ones been dead for a long while.
I put the samples away and look for a river. I clean my face of the weird fluid. It looks and smells like blood but, I'm not sure. Once I'm done I better head back home and hide these. Should probably shower too so I can hide the scent of what I've been doing.
Hey! I know it's been a bit but I've been traveling so I haven't been able to work on this as much as I want. Hopefully you enjoyed this chapter. I'll do my best to get the next chapter out asap but, remember it takes time.

P.S. I forgot to put little notes on the end of the last two chapters. I was just excited to release them.
