Matt Porter was born in New Haven, Connecticut, to a very influential family. Arthur Porter was a judge while his mother, Dottie, was an interior designer. He had two sisters, Kitty and CeCe. He got along better with CeCe since she was an oddball, while Kitty was a true WASP. It really did run in the family.
When Matt was 12 years old, the family moved to Washington DC to accompany CeCe. She got into Georgetown but was a minor and the family didn't want to leave her alone. Matt wasn't happy. He enjoyed his life in Connecticut, but knew his parents would never take his complaints into consideration considering their favoritism towards CeCe. She was the genius of the family and he was the troublemaker.
He found quite a few friends in Thomas Jefferson High School. Matt was always popular and charming. He joined the football team, got good grades, got in trouble of course, but that's just Matt. That was the thing that set him apart from his sisters. And he wouldn't have it any other way.
