Alexis POV

I woke up smiling, remembering the conversation Ashton and I had last night. I hummed under my breath as I skipped down the stairs and towards the kitchen. Michael was already up and was eating a bowl of cereal whilst looking at his Twitter feed.

"Good morning!" Michael looked up at my cheerful tone.

"Morning..? You're awfully happy for someone who usually hates mornings" he said in mock shock.

"Ha ha be quiet. Don't ruin my mood!" I grinned at him as I got a glass of orange juice and gulped it down in record time.

"Should I know the reason you're so happy? Something to do with a boy..?" He smirked at me.

"No! Nope no boy whatsoever, I'm just in a good mood. Is that a crime?" I've probably turned my usual shade of magenta. I must stop doing this

"Whatever you say Lexie.." Winking at me, Michael returned his attention to his phone.

Michael had gone out by the time that I had a shower and got changed out of my pyjamas so I turned my music up loud and had a bit of a dance party to whatever came on the radio. I had just finished an amazing rendition of I Knew You Were Trouble which involved a lot of hair flipping and collapsing to the ground when I heard a knock on the door. Assuming it was going to be Michael or someone I didn't bother fixing my hair and just answered it.

"Hi.. Erm is this a bad time?" He looked at my hair, all windswept to one side. Crap crap why why Lex why.

"Um hey! No.. Um. I just... Er I was having a bit of a dance party" understatement.

"Well, is Michael here?" He looked at his hands.

"Nope, I'm not sure when he'll be back. Sorry.."

"Are you doing anything? I have nothing to do so.. You wanna hang out or something?"

IS ASHTON IRWIN ASKING ME TO HANG OUT WITH HIM?!

"W-what?"

"I um was wondering if you wanted to you know, hang out" he asked, touching his hair in the process.

"Oh sure okay. Give me a few minutes" I smiled and then shut the door.

Ohmygod why did I shut the door? Why didn't I invite him in? He's gonna think I'm so rude now oh gosh. Alexis WHY WHY WHY. You're so stupid. Ugh. But I don't like him so I don't know why I care so much.

I ran to the closet mirror to fix my hair and put on some pink lipstick. I grabbed a postit note and wrote a message to say I'm out with Ashton for whoever came back first. Okay. Breathe. You got this Lex.

I opened the door and let out a slight sigh of relief to find that by some miracle he's still there. I send a silent prayer of thanks.

"Er hey. Sorry about that"

"That's alright. All set?"

"Yeah, let's go" At my words he smiled my favourite smile. The one that really reaches his eyes and when his adorable dimples can be truly be seen. I had the sudden urge to reach up and touch them. I have to stop thinking like this. Brother's best friend, remember?!

I didn't realise that I was staring that is, until he waved one hand in front of my face and asked if I was still with him. We get into his car and as he drives, we talk. We talk about everything. Everything about his time touring with One Direction and visiting all the cities. We talk about how I much I want to travel everywhere, especially London. We talk about my time back here in Sydney and how people started to use me to get to Mikey's band and One Direction. He frowned at my comments about that. I didn't tell him everything of course but i came close to it. I told him that although people liked to use me because of my connections, I had found Sophie & Taylor and how much they had helped me through things. He seemed to relax at that but still tried to reassure me that if anybody tried to give me trouble, I should tell him and he would go and sort it. I smiled at the thought of Ashton defending me.

We finally get to our destination. I have absolutely no idea where we are but Ashton seems completely at peace. We're parked in a ditch by a path that leads into a forest. It's beautiful.

"This is where I like to go to clear my head. It's like my place." He smiles at me as he turns the engine off. He quickly hops out and runs around the car to open my door before I even had my seat belt off.

"Why thank you" I giggled as I took his hand and jumped out.

"Anything for m'lady" he bowed dramatically and then smiled that smile again. As he did, that little part of me desperately wished that he could be mine.

"Follow me. I'll show you my spot"

We walk along the path until we come into a clearly amongst the trees. I gasped at what I saw. There was a small lake with sandy banks, with trees dangling over it. One of them had a rope swing attached to it. Oh I'm definitely going to be trying that one out at some point. It seems like such a visual representation of what Ashton is and who he is.

"It's beautiful" I whispered.

"You like it?" He seemed genuinely relieved that I like it.

Ashton POV

We've been lying in the sun for hours. Laughing. Talking. I feel so happy and free when I'm with her. I just wish that I could tell her how I feel. I don't even know if she likes me back, or how Michael would take it that I'm pretty much basically sort of in love with his sister. He may kill me.

Gradually the clouds covered the sun and then suddenly it started to rain. I laugh as she screams when the rain falls on her.

I have an idea.

I get up and drag her with me.

"Miss Alexis Clifford, may I have this dance?"
"Of course, Mr Ashton Irwin" I place my hand on her waist and she puts hers on my shoulder. She giggles as I take her hand and start to lead her in a dance. It feels just so right being here with Lex like this.

"Ashton!!" She shrieks with laughter as I dip her. She clings to me even more when I pull her back up. She looks so so beautiful right now, in this moment. Even though her hair is wet and her make up is running with the downpour that is currently happening. I think I like her like her. Oh lord it's too late to stop my feelings.

Alexis POV

Ohmygod I think I like him. There's no denying it anymore. I can't lie to myself any more. I like like Ashton Irwin. God help me.
