I look back at the fox boss in the flames.
It seemed startled by the attack but not heavily affected.
First that tiger, now this fox?
Why do we keep running into dangerous creatures back to back?

That fox isn't fire proof, meaning it doesn't have fire resistance of any kind.
That said, it also is able to create flames that ignore our fire resistance.
It probably doesn't have resistances to our attacks, but given that it's the boss of the other foxes, it probably has the same skills as the other foxes but stronger.
It probably can self heal as well meaning we have to end the fox quickly.
At the very least we have to take it down enough to were it will try to retreat instead of try to fight us.
But how do we do that?
Can we do that?
Everyone is worn out and we don't have much MP to work with.
Not to mention that chill from its gaze.
Its target right now is me, but it probably will attack my siblings if given the chance.

Something to change this problem we're caught in.

I suddenly feel something hit and roll me into a bush.
A hand is held over my mouth as I'm held.
I look up to see none other than the princess herself.
"Mrrrmry." I muffle out.
"Shh." She shushed.
The fox quickly ran forward several feet down the path before stopping to shake the flames off its fur.
After doing so it quickly looked around before continuing to run down.
Mari let out a sigh as she moved her hand from my muzzle.
"Finally safe." She sighed out. "At least for a bit."
I huff before looking down at Mari holding me.
"Hey, let me go." I tell her.
"Ah, sorry. I wasn't trying to pet you." She says letting me go.
"I know. Thanks for the save." I look at the blue flame on my tail wagging to put it out. "Ugh, these flames are annoying."

I open my mouth slowly and look at my tail where the flame was before.
Obviously the flame was gone.

The fox just seemed to have lost track of all of us for a moment, so we could talk freely.
"Mari." I growl softly to her. "Do you think you can make me faster like before?"
She looked down at me and nods.
"Yeah? Why?"
"Good. I've got a plan so I need you to tell the others what I'm going to tell you." I look up at her. "I'll buy some time till then."
Wow, I really do run off on my own alot.
