Chapter One Homemade Weddings

Cali has a secret.

But don't tell anyone, okay? This one's pretty out there, and it might even be the most embarrassing thing in the whole world.

But fine, she can tell you.

The truth is, Cali kinda wants to get married again. Maybe it's because their friends just got engaged, and Cali's not sure if she wants to dress up or eat a nauseating amount of cake (kidding, there's no such thing), but the urge is strong and she keeps glancing at Indie as if he's going to read her mind.

"Shortcake," He starts. "Is there anything you want?"

"H-Ha?" Cali pretends not to hear the question. She wouldn't know how to bring it up anyway, thinking, we should be saving tapos here I am asking for another wedding?

"Do you need more baking supplies? Nalagpasan na yata natin 'yong store kanina."

Cali shakes her head and grips Indie's hand tighter. They were walking along Jardin Park with Indie's brother but now the two of them were lagging behind.

"Come on, tell me." Indie probes, halts them both from walking so he can look at the expression on his wife's face.

Cali doesn't even realize she's pouting, that there's a small frown on her forehead now that wasn't there before.

"Shortcake please," Indie cups both of her cheeks and whispers in her mouth, of all places.

"Did I do something wrong?" Their faces were so close that if you happen to glance at them at just the right angle, it'd look like they were kissing.

"Nope." Cali doesn't budge. She's usually so open about telling Indie what she felt, but this time she's enjoying having him guess even more. Mahuhulaan kaya niya?

"Alam ko na," Indie raised an eyebrow, remembering that Cali's parents had a beach getaway planned for themselves. "Gusto mo rin mag-beach?"

Cali waves him off but a small smile is tugging at the corners of her mouth.

"Hmmm," Indie tilts his head and drops his gaze to Cali's lips. "Our friends did just get engaged...are you jealous?"

Cali's eyes widen by a tiny fraction and Indie knows he got it right.

"Tsk tsk, you love me so much you want to get married again? For the third time?" Indie teases.

"Yep!" Cali answers with a huff almost instantly which makes her husband laugh.

The sound is as sweet as chocolate-coated strawberries. It reverberates around her, wraps her senses in bliss, and makes her heartbeats topple over one another.

Without thinking, Cali throws her arms around Indie and plants small kisses on the skin below his ear.

Her love for him is immeasurable and of course, she'd marry him three times, even four times, or let's just say three hundred and sixty five times for every day of the year. Actually, she'd marry him constantly if it was possible.

Naloka na, she purses her lips at the thought but she really doesn't think it's ridiculous. After all, Indie would probably make it happen if she insisted.

At home, Indie is absent-mindedly drawing tiny, invisible hearts on the side of Cali's arm. They were watching an episode of Pocoyo when, surprise, Cali fell asleep halfway through.
