Harley looks over at Peter once Y/n is out of sight. "Alright, I've got to ask." He started. Peter and Harley turned to each other in their chairs. "Is there something going on between you two? Anything?" He asks. Peter didn't know what to say. He didn't know what Y/n wanted Harley to know and what not. "Uh," He said. "I can tell you like her. The way you two look at each other." Harley says with a smile. Peter awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. "Uh, well," He stammers. Harley chuckled a little and took another bite of his dinner. "So, you're her intern, huh?" He smirks. "We... we call it that. I'm here to help her with a project. We've been dating for a while, actually." Peter blushed. Harley smiles proudly at the boy. "I'm happy for you two." Harley leans a little closer to him, "Don't worry. I can turn down her offer. She can only have one intern." He added with a slight smirk. Peter chuckles along with him. "It's alright." He assures him. Peter briefly glanced over his shoulder to see if Y/n was back yet. "So, you helped Tony?" Peter asks. Harley nodded his head. "Yeah. He broke into my garage actually. He tried to keep his distance... I obviously didn't let him." He tells. "Actually, the same thing happened to me. Well, something like that. It wasn't me - or well it was me. But she- she just kind of happened to be there." Peter rambled. Harley chuckles at him. "I know." He said. Peter looks at him. "So, you and Y/n never -" Peter started. "Nope," Harley cut him off, "I don't know we've been like cousins, really. Or distant siblings. I never really felt that way for her. Well, I mean, I saw her once and we were both in the middle of puberty and... well, you know. But other than that, no." The blonde answered.
Peter felt a little more confident hearing these words come from Harley's mouth too. "So, how did you two even meet? I thought Tony didn't really want her to go outside and be with other people." He said. Peter thought about it for a minute about how he was going to explain this. "Long story short, Tony thought it was a good idea to have us team up. Turns out, he was right. I think... yeah I think that's the easiest way to put this." He chuckles. "And he was okay with you... swooping in on his daughter?" Harley asks. "Oh, definitely not. He did not approve." Peter says, "But I guess he liked me enough at some point." Peter answered. Harley felt some sort of connection between them. "You're lucky you got to spend more time with him," Harley admitted. "I am grateful for that," Peter replied.
Meanwhile, Y/n stood in the hallway with her phone pressed against her ear. "I don't know what you're doing there, but I don't feel great about this. The supplies you ordered? You're up to something serious." Bruce tells her sternly. "You sound like my dad," Y/n replied. "I'm being serious about this, Y/n. I'm worried about this project of yours. I really am." Bruce tells him. Y/n sighs. "Listen, you can come over tomorrow if you want to check up on me." She suggests. "It's not about what you're doing when I'm there. It's about what you do when I'm not. I don't want you to do something dangerous just because you can." He said. "If you're worried about something similar to Ultron -" Y/n started. "I know it's not like Ultron. You're not stupid, alright?" Bruce cut her off, "You're a smart girl, Y/n. I just want you to be safe. And maybe not blow up the world." He tells her. Bruce was a good uncle to her. He meant well. Plus, he was just as smart as her dad. He also saw her potential He saw so much more than just Stark's daughter. She's smart Y/n Stark. "I'll have some coffee ready for you." She smiles at the phone. Bruce chuckles at her. "I'll see you tomorrow, kid," Bruce adds before hanging up. Y/n smiles a little to herself. Bruce wouldn't agree with this at all, but he would remain calm about it nonetheless. This was a soothing thought. Someone who wouldn't yell at her. Not that Tony would yell at her on a daily basis or anything, but he would raise his voice sometimes when they didn't agree on something. Steve always had his lectures ready for her. Clint... well, he was a dad too, but not hers. And Thor never listened to her. He tried, but his thoughts always drifted somewhere else.
