It's already late at night, and he still hasn't come home. Ever since we got married last week, he's been like this, always coming home drunk. He's always cold, and when I try to talk to him, he gets annoyed. I know I'll only get hurt by his actions and behavior, but I love him so much. So even though he didn't want this marriage, I agreed and continued.

I love him, I really do. I've liked him since high school, and I never thought he would be the one I'd marry. I was 17 when my parents told me about the arranged marriage. They didn't tell me who I was going to marry until I turned 20. I was surprised to find out that Liam was the man I was going to marry.

Our parents set up dates for us to develop feelings for each other. But I think it was only me who developed those feelings. When it's just the two of us, it's like I'm invisible, but when our parents are around or when they're in front of us, he's affectionate towards me. And he's treating me well.

Two years.

He pretended to have feelings for me in front of our parents for two years. While I, for two years, have been hurting because of his actions.

On the day of our wedding, he seemed hesitant to say 'I do' in front of the priest. It took him almost a minute to respond to the priest's question. People were whispering, and our parents had furrowed brows.

We didn't go on a honeymoon. Since we got married, we've just been here in our parents' house. He doesn't eat with me, it's like I'm just air to him, and that hurts. But I chose this, so I need to face the consequences.

I heard the gate open, Liam is here for sure. I heard the door open, and Liam was surprised to see me sitting on the sofa, still awake.

"What the hell, Katherine? Why are you still awake?" His eyes glared at me as he looked at me. Can't he talk to me without using hurtful words?

"L-Liam, I've been waiting for you. Where have you been coming from every time you come home late at night?" I asked him timidly. He just looked at me as if I were the most disgusting person he had ever seen.

He grinned. "You don't care where I've been. I came from another woman's room. Are you happy now?" Tears welled up in the corners of my eyes. Why is he like this? Why can't he be content with me? Why does he want to hurt me with his actions? I wiped away the tears on my cheek and was about to go down the stairs when he suddenly confronted me.

"What, Kath? Are you going to cry again? Do you want to know where I've been and then whine about it?" I don't think I can handle what he's saying anymore. He came from another woman's room, and most likely, they had been intimate.

Is that what husbands do?

"Why can't you be satisfied with me? Why do you have to be with someone else? Why-" He didn't let me finish my sentence.

"Because I don't fucking like you, slut!"

Slut?

Is that what he calls a woman who has loved no one but him? Tears kept flowing uncontrollably, it hurt, his words hurt. He knows nothing about me because he never bothered to dig into my life.

"Don't act innocent, Kath. I know you're a dirty woman," he said with a smirk before going upstairs and slamming the door.

Me? A dirty woman? Even he believes the rumors that spread about me in the past. I was in college when there was an issue going around about me.

Someone courted me, a friend of Liam's. His name was Jeric. He was handsome, wealthy, but I knew he was a playboy, so I rejected him. I didn't have any interest in him because I liked Liam, and I don't entertain advances from just anyone. I didn't want to give him false hope, so I made it clear early on.

But on the day I rejected him, the next day rumors started spreading that something happened between me and Jeric. Which is not true, I don't know why Jeric did that. Why did he have to ruin my dignity?

Since then, people's perceptions of me changed. They knew I was a decent girl, but because they knew Jeric as a playboy who easily sleeps around, they believed the rumors. I just ignored them because I knew deep down that what they were saying and thinking about me wasn't true.

So that's why Liam dislikes me because he sees me as a dirty woman.

I went upstairs to our room where Liam was sleeping. I laid down beside him; he was facing away from me.

When will you love me, Liam? When will I be enough?

I woke up early to cook breakfast for Liam. I made fried rice and bacon. After a while, I heard Liam coming downstairs.

"Are you leaving?" I asked him. He was already dressed and freshened up. He didn't look at me and went straight to the fridge, grabbed some water, and drank. "Liam, have breakfast, I cooked for you," I invited him.

"I'll just eat out," he replied coldly and headed towards the door.

"Liam, where are you going? It's still early," I asked him.

"You don't care where I'm going," he answered and left the house.

I do care because I'm his wife, and I have the right to ask him. He's always like this. Whenever I cook for him, he never even tastes it, nor does he eat with me. I'm always left alone in this house.

Maybe this is how it is at first, but I know he will learn to love me. His attitude will change.

I'll just wait.
