In my whole life I had never imagined that this is how someone would ever see my naked for the first time since I was 12. I grabbed my towel and ran to the bathroom and hid out there for what felt like forever. After a little while Tracey came knocking on the door. “Hunny, you can come out now, Luke is gone, I’m sorry about that I didn’t know my son would be back so soon. I really am, but can you come out and get dressed I don’t want you to get sick.” I started nodding and then remembered she couldn’t see so I opened the door and walked out to find her sitting on the bed with an apologetic look on his face. “I’m sorry; he was only supposed to be back from camp on Friday. His really sorry and says he won’t come out if you don’t want him to.” How could someone be this nice to some stranger they just met. “It’s ok Tracey, he doesn’t need to hide, this is his house and his room I’m invading his space and I should be the one apologizing to him.” After I got dressed I headed down stairs to find Tracey with two ups of hot chocolate. “He says he will come down once his washed and dressed” I just nodded remembering him half naked in front me. Tracey broke my train of thought when she started asking questions about me. “Tell me about yourself, Lana right?” “Yes, well I moved here yesterday from Mossel Bay and I thought it would be fun to explore abit. I’m studying physiotherapy at UCT and I’m hoping to find a dance studio in CT to dance at. I’m the youngest of 4 over achievers”

Just as I had finished, the Greek god came walking in looking rather shy which was weird for someone who seems as though they exert so much confidence. I immediately put the cup down and got up to shake his hand. I stared directly into his piercing blue eyes and I was lost completely, I just stood there admiring him while holding his hand, I’m not sure how long I was staring but Tracey began to laugh and by then I pretty sure looked like an idiot. I eventually managed to form a word. “Hi” was all I could manage to say. I don’t know what was going on but I had to leave.

“Tracey thank you so much but I have to get going it is really late and I don’t know back, never mind how I got here, thank you so much and apologize to your son for me once again” before I could leave she pulled me back “nonsense, you are going nowhere missy, your window is cracked and its very dark outside you will sleep in Luke’s room. I was wondering why I had to use his room since there were so many other rooms but I did not argue with her I just thanked her and went straight to his room
