Nishaan's POV

A DAY BEFORE

I tried giving my mom my best innocent face, hoping she'd reconsider the function she wanted me to attend. However, her response was clear and stern: "I want you ready by 12:30 PM sharp or you might not like the consequences," she shouted before leaving the room. I plopped down on the bed with a heavy sigh. I didn't want to reschedule my meeting for tomorrow because I've always believed in sticking to schedules; time, once fixed, should stay fixed. But disobeying my mom wasn't an option.I decided to call my PA and asked him to reschedule my 12 PM meeting to 9 AM.

The next day

In the conference room, the meeting was on the brink of starting, and I couldn't help but notice that one chair remained empty. I thought to myself, "How can people be so careless as to not be on time for a business meeting?" It was 8:57, and we were determined to begin the meeting right on the dot at 9 AM, whether someone showed up or not.

Without a sound, the door swung open, and in walked a girl in her late teens, wearing a mini skirt that immediately drew everyone's attention, given that the room was filled with men. However, she was precisely on time, entering at exactly 9:00 AM. I was impressed by her punctuality. She greeted everyone and took the vacant seat without making a sound. The presentation was about to start , I took a glance of the room and my eyes fell on that girl who was looking at my hands I kept on looking at her ,as she lifted her eyes and her brown eyes met mine , I felt a spark and she swayed her eyes in the other direction.

As the presentation began, I found my focus shifting from the screen to her face. She was stunningly beautiful, with rosy cheeks that accentuated her beauty. She wore several bracelets that glistened in the conference hall's lights. When Mr. Kukreja began speaking, I snapped out of my reverie and tuned into the discussion. Each person presented their ideas, and when it was her turn, I couldn't help but watch her closely. I was intrigued by her confidence and poise, especially since she was a young girl among seasoned businessmen. She started sharing her thoughts, and I couldn't tear my gaze away. I listened intently and was once again impressed by her professional and innovative presentation style, seamlessly blending technology with management.I knew most of the people present were my business rivals, and they typically disagreed with anything I endorsed. Since it was a collaborative effort, I decided to reject her ideas to encourage everyone else to support them. Not at all because she was exceptionally pretty but also because she was genuinely capable. Well, maybe a bit because she managed to surprise me with her punctuality.

she got done with her presentation was waiting for comments and I had to start ofcourse. I stood up and made my way towards the screen and started with every little mistake I found in her suggestions .when I was done I looked at her ,'face red' OMG she was fuming with anger .

As expected, everyone liked her ideas, and I could see the happiness on her face. After the meeting concluded, I noticed her packing her belongings - laptop, PDs, files, and whatnot. I approached her and said, "Congratulations on your presentation. Quite the show you put on."

she didn't even turn to face me for 30-40 sec then She turned to face me with an icy tone and replied, "Oh, I'm surprised you even noticed. You seemed too busy shooting down every idea I had." With that, she walked away, leaving me staring at her retreating figure.

Realization hit me like a ton of bricks. "Hurry up, Nishaan, or you'll have to endure a one-hour lecture," I muttered to myself, rushing out of my office and zooming off in my G-wagon.I reached home and dashed to my room. It was a desi function, so I had to figure out what to wear. My wardrobe lacked traditional outfits, so I settled for a black kurta and white pants. After about 15 minutes, I emerged from my closet, sprayed on some cologne, and headed downstairs to meet my mom.

It was my mom's close friend's daughter's Mehendi function, and her name was Lavishka Kapoor. We had known each other since our high school days, having attended the same tution. We used to be friends back then, but over the years, we lost touch.

When I approached her to congratulate her, her initial reaction was, "Bro, who are you?" I reminded her of our past, and she exclaimed, "OMG, Nishaan, you've changed so much! Handsome, muscular...ahem ahem, I'm impressed." I couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction. Well, it was true - I had indeed undergone quite a transformation.

I also caught up with some other old friends and got engrossed in conversations with them. Until..

3 YEARS BACK

"Come on, Nishaan, yeh tujhsey nahi pategi," Akhil remarked, glancing at the girl before us."Khudko dekh aur usko dekh," he continued, his confidence growing.I couldn't help but think he was right, and I reluctantly admitted, "Yes, you are correct." With that, we both walked away, leaving behind my first-ever crush shattered. Once I reached home, I stared at my reflection in the mirror. "He was right. Look at me; I can't even compare to her level. She's so beautiful. Akhil really saved me from embarrassing myself today," I mumbled to my own reflection. Minutes passed as I stared at myself, a tear forming in my eye before I eventually drifted to sleep.

The next day, I hadn't planned on going to college so I informed Akhil, but my professor called, stressing the importance of attending the lecture. Reluctantly, I left home for college. As I entered, there she was-my first crush, Jahnvi. Remembering the events of the previous day, I decided to head straight to class.

The lecture ended, and I was going to meet Akhil. I headed to our usual spot behind the canteen, but what I witnessed left me in shock-Jahnvi was sitting with Akhil, their hands intertwined.

Tears welled up in my eyes at the sight before me, and with a heavy heart, I turned away. I returned home with a broken heart, not because of Jahnvi, but because of Akhil.
