Guards guarded the room of the royal prince who now stood on the balcony of his room, looking out at the royal kingdom of the light amendment. he smiled as admired the view. The prince was interrupted when there was a knock on the door and the queen's voice could be heard on the other side,
"Liam?", the queen spoke in a soothing voice which averted the prince's gaze to the door, and he removed himself from the balcony and walked the door, opening it to reveal his mother.
"May i come in?", she requests, and the prince moved out of the way to allow his mother to walk in and Liam closed the door behind her again.
"Is something wrong, did anything happen?" Liam spoke as it was rare for his mother to come to his room personally to deliver a message instead of sending one of the guards to deliver the message for her.
"There is something important that I must talk with you about", she spoke in a stern voice and sat on the king-sized bed, patting the spot beside her for her son to sit. Liam made his way to the bed and sat next to his mother and looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"What is it?, don't tell me the guard trainers got blinded again by their magic." Liam said and let out an exaggerated sigh as he didn't want to deal with another blind trainee again, his mother laughed at the thought of what her son said happening again and she shook her head no.
"I hoped it was that, but this is more serious", she looked at her again and took a deep breath as she hesitated before speaking, "The dark kingdom has requested to have an arranged marriage with the light kingdom and the prince of the kingdom has personally requested himself to marry you, Liam.", She spoke and those words caused Liam's eyes to widen in surprise, he never would have thought that the Royal Kingdom of Xylem would ever request an arranged marriage.
The queen continued to speak, "And me and your father have decided it would be a good idea for it to happen as we think it could finally bring peace to the kingdom and end the outgoing war, we have been having with them for over 10,000 years". Liam's mother hesitated before she spoke the next part, "But we want you to take good care of yourself and try to get yourself out of danger as we want you to live so you can take your father's place when he passes".
Those words caused Liam jaw to drop, and he immediately retorted back in anger. "I am not marrying the prince of the evil kingdom!", he spoke loudly, which caused his mother to flinch at the tone her son was using, "Why would they choose me to marry that low-life bastard", Liam continued to speak, and his face shifted to blank expression and stormed out of the room and do his father's office. He opened the door and closed it behind him, he saw his father sitting in his desk chair and once he saw the expression on his son's face he immediately knew what happened, the king let out a sigh and rubbed his temples before setting his glasses down and crossing his arms as he looked at his son.
"I guess your mother told you about the marriage proposal?", the king spoke in a solemn tone and Liam face shifted back into anger.
"I never agreed to this!" Liam yelled and he stood Infront of his father's desk and slammed his hands down on the desk as he stared at his father "You will not force me to marry someone I have no interest in being with or even worse, SPENDING THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH!" He yelled angrily. His father stood up and slammed his hands on the desk as he looked at his son.
"You have no choice but to follow our demands, you are marrying their son and that is final!", Liam groaned and stormed out of his father's office to his room where he was mother was no longer present and he slammed his door shut with made the guards flinch due to the brutal force of the slam. Liam locked his door and immediately jumped onto his bed and screamed into the pillow, he could not believe this was happening, why would he be forced into a marriage he wasn't even involved in, he didn't even agree to this or was even informed about this until now.
Liam was sitting on his pillow thinking about the things that could wrong when he is sent to the Xylem kingdom, he was interrupted by a knock on his door and his brother's voice could be heard on the other side,
"Liam can you please open the door, Mom has tried multiple times to contact you and you never responded to any of her calls.", Gabrial spoke in a worried tone as he was concerned about why his brother had locked himself in his room for almost the entire the day.
"They told you didn't they", Gabriel's voice was heard again on the other side of the door, but Liam gave no response. "Liam please open the door." Gabriel's voice was heard again, he sounded more desperate for his brother to open the door. Liam gave in and stood up from his bed and walked to the door, unlocking it and opening it to reveal his brother, Gabriel was about an inch taller than Liam, he had medium length brown hair, tanned skin, and hazel eyes, while Liam had longer hair that went just over his shoulders.
"May I come in please?", Gabriel said calmly, Liam looked up at his brother before rolling his eyes and stepping out of his brother's way so Gabriel could come into his room. Gabriel made his way to his brother's bed and sat on it before looking up at Liam who still stood in front of him, "Are you going to sit down?", Gabriel said calmly, and Liam sighed exaggeratedly before sitting down next to his brother.
"I'm sorry that you have to marry the prince of the Xylem kingdom, I was never informed about this I thought somebody else would be sent instead of you", Gabrial spoke and looked at his brother apologetically as he waited for his response.
"I would have been fine with it if they had let me know sooner, I should have had a say in this", Liam said as he looked at the floor and continued to speak.
"I should have been informed about this sooner they can't just speak about this in private and then decide to do it without getting my opinion about it, that is messed up, I don't want to marry him but it looks like I have no choice.", Liam spoke and looked over at Gabriel who know seemed more apologetic than before, he was furious with his parents for not letting Liam onto this and not giving his brother a chance to speak for himself about this situation, Gabriel wrapped his arm around his brother and pulled him close, Liam laid his head on his brother's shoulder and Gabriel laid his head on top of his.
"I'm sorry they didn't let you have an opinion on this, but even if I try to talk them out of it, they wouldn't change their decision," Gabriel said softly before looking down at his brother and thinking of a way to comfort him, "I remember when we were kids, we used to always comfort each other.", Grabriel chuckled at the memory. "We would make an illusion of our favorite places in the world using our Magic and try to walk around it", Liam said and looked up at his brother with a smile.
"Then one time you bumped your head into a wall when you tried to reach out for the Panda", Gabriel teased which earned him a good shove in the rib from his brother. That's how the two boys spent the rest of their day, just talking to each other and comforting one another before the day when Liam had to leave his home kingdom and make his way to the Royal Kingdom of Xylem.
