Last summer was a hell of a rollercoaster. First it was Conrad, then Jeremiah, I honestly can't even remember. But then, everything became clear. Conrad wasn't someone worth caring for, not even someone I want to know. He has broken my heart countless times, acted as if he didn't care. His habit of blocking people out of his life, has caused me to lose my innocent self a long time ago. But Jere on the other hand, has always been there for me, in the hardest times, through setbacks and hardships. No matter what, he was there.

Belly's Pov:

I've been waiting for this moment for months. Sleepless nights, pillows drenched in tears, the beach house is finally ours again. My heart is pounding out of my chest, my hands are shaking, I almost feel faint, but this time, I have Jere. He puts an arm around my shoulders steadying me as I stare dreamily into his ocean blue eyes. He grins and kisses my forehead, being the supportive boyfriend, I'd always wanted. Before I daydream any further, Taylor's voice breaks the deafening silence,

"Okay, we get it, Jelly is official, now let's go! We have a volleyball tournament to win!"

I look at Jere one more time before Taylor drags me into her car, forcing a hot pink shirt over me.

The car halts to a stop as the Cousins Volleyball Centre logo screams at my eyes. It is a sight I haven't seen in centuries! Before I have time to think about Jere again, the adrenaline fills my brain. Only the words volleyball, and win, become familiar to me. My competitive nature is what got me into volleyball in the first place. But now, there is a more important task at hand. To take down our most feared opponents, the one person I despise most, the one person I cannot stand, the one person smarter than me. Steven. His smug look out on the courts has already put me off, his evil grin shouting at us, look! we got here first, we're so much better. Ughhh, I just can stand it!

"Are you alright? You look like you're about to vomit." Taylor asks me.

"Why, did Google tell you that?" I reply.

"No, your face did." Taylor barely manages to laugh out the four words.

Soon, it was our turn to compete, I put on my most winning smile, and give the audience a little wave. It was all I could manage before I gave Steven a deadly stare. And, in just seconds, the match had started.

After what seemed like hours of tireless jumping, running, and spiking, we finally managed to defeat Steven and his partner. Afterall, we are siblings with similar skill sets. However, that is no excuse for him, I'm still going to be rubbing the trophy in his face until the day he dies. I look towards the audience, and Jeremiah's supporting smile wins me over again. I rush towards the bleachers, pushing through the pandemonium. There he is, the perfect boy I'd known since forever, yet I was too blind to see him that way...
