I'm trying again! This is my own story/characters! Testing the waters, hope you like!
"The one thing I liked about being an insane demon," Adam muttered to himself, "was not being able to feel pesky emotions."
He was currently leaning against a wall near a set of stairs, playing with the ends of his sleeves, and waiting for Angel. His nerves were frayed with how much nervousness he felt. Angel, earlier this week, had asked him if he wanted to join him for lunch. He then went on stuttering what he hoped was a 'yes'. Cory later went and looked for him asking him what he was going to do. Then it came crashing down that Adam had no clue how this generation worked still. It wasn't really important as he never needed to learn of this 'internet' or how a computer works. Right now he was just learning about YouTube. Luckily, Cory came to his aid. The other said to just let Angel lead since he was the one who asked for this in the first place.
"Hey!" Adam's head shot up, catching the smile in Angel's face. "Ya ready?"
Adam nodded, hooking his left arm with Angel's right arm, a habit that was drilled into him when he was dating a girl name Anna. Memories of her were faded and no longer stung as they did in the past. They were quite enjoyable now. Though, that is another story for any other day.
"Where are we going?" Adam asked.
"I was thinking Taco Bell, since I don't think ya ever had a taco in your life," Angel poked his side playfully.
Adam glared, but found himself with a small smile in his face. God, he felt like his stomach was going to burst any second.
They started down the street. The only reason they stopped a few times was to sightsee, or make a suggestion. Angel was mostly the one talking and laughing, but neither of them complained. By the time they got to their destination, both their hair was messed up by the wind. Angel could not stop himself from laughing at the mess of Adam's.
"Your hair looks like birds can build a nest in it," Angel snickered as he opened the door.
Adam looked at him, his hands were already reaching to flatten the curly brown mess that was his hair. It wasn't his fault his hair was like this. It was naturally a fluffy mess (which Angel never minded as he liked to play with it a lot).
"Your pony tail is coming undone," Adam bluntly said. He was never good, and probably never will be, at comebacks. The time he has lived in the house, he noticed that Cory and Angel were the masters of that.
Angel narrowed his eyes and went to fix it. Adam couldn't help but notice the dark blue dye was coming out, showing dark brown roots. He kept the comment to himself as they caught a spot in line.
Adam was actually fairly happy, that in all these years, he never showed his true form to anyone. Well, there was this one time, but no one lived to tell the tale. Again, that was a different story. The only thing that gave off that he was remotely a demon, was his red eyes. Surprisingly, he rarely got commented on it. He was told to just say that they were contacts if anyone asked.
"I'm going to order the $5 box, 'cuz that's my favorite," Angel grinned, his hair neat as it can get. "Go look and see what you like."
Adam scanned the board. He didn't really know anything from this food place so he just went with what Angel had. Angel nodded and went to order for them as Adam sat down at the nearest table. He couldn't help but notice how many people were staring at Angel.
"Oh my lord is that Angel?!" A girl whispered from across the room.
Adam resisted an eye roll. It was an everyday thing. A lot of people knew Angel. Hell it didn't stop there, they knew the rest of the gang as well. Most people went for Cory, or Dante in that matter, but their eyes stray away unto Angel and Maria at times. The only reason they were so famous was because they saved the world about 3 damned times (one time actually from himself). Slowly they raised through the ranks and found themselves fairly well known almost everywhere. People usually stayed away from him and he was glad for that. He honestly couldn't even stand the people he already knew. Angel was the only exception.
"Urgh, it may take awhile for the food to be done," Angel plopped into the seat in front of him, "but it will be worth it."
Adam nodded slowly, leaning against his hand as he looked around the room.
He didn't like the stares the girls were giving his partner.
"Hey you okay?" Angel caught his attention.
"Yes." Adam deadpanned. He rarely spoke about his emotions and he sure as hell wasn't going to do so in a public place where anyone could listen in.
Angel frowned. "Y'know I've been friends with Cory for a long ass time. I know when people are lying." He leaned against the table, resting his cheek on his left hand. "So what's up?"
Adam debated whether he should just say it. He knew it wasn't that bad, but admitting it aloud might make him feel rather stupid. Instead he just nodded to the pair of girls gawking at them.
Angel blew a raspberry and gave a soft laugh.
"Don't mind them, I'm use to all the stares by now." Angel grinned.
"Number 786!" A voice yelled out and Angel jumped up.
"That's ours!" He walked off.
Adam patiently waited. He was starving, another thing he hated. While he was demon he never got this hungry. I mean, for blood yes, but that was something that was easy to get. Blood was the only necessity.
Speaking of that...That was still something he needed. Something he hasn't had in awhile. However he didn't want to tell Angel that he had been thinking of tearing into his neck and drinking a small ounce. He had only begun to get the younger ones trust even if they have been dating for awhile. Though, biting Angel wasn't really the worry. It was what might happen afterwards that was the problem.
"Food delivery!" Angel sung softly and handed Adam a box.
"It is...A literal box?"
"Yeaaah?" Angel looked at him weird before it clicked in his mind what was happening. "I don't eat the box Adam!"
Angel laughed as he reached over the table and opened up the box revealing two tacos, a burrito, and curly things.
"I don't know how these things work," hissed Adam.
"Now you grab a taco and put it to your mouth, then you p-"
"I know how to eat!" Adam threw up his arms before grabbing the damned taco.
"Sure ya do," Angel snickered, but went to eat his food.
The rest of the time was basically Angel talking about the times he had in Japan, or what weird stuff had happened when he met Seto.
"When Nic came into the picture it was hell for Seto," Angel explained, "Poor guy thought Nic was cute, but Nic didn't know he was remotely into men until he started hanging out with Seto more. Plus, at the time, Nic was human! Urgh saving him was a bitch. Cory took lead and we found out he was one of the GDs. Then we debated if we should kill him or not. Obviously we didn't. So many stories!"
"I haven't met those two yet," Adam said, "Will I be able to?"
"Yeah! We just need to see when they are free." Angel shrugged. "They both have work. We hardly get to see them ourselves."
Then Angel talked about the time Cory stayed at his house when they first met, the second first time they met (It's confusing...), and a certain table hated Cory. Cory kept getting up and banging his knee on it. Apparently, he tripped and fell on his face. Even though Adam was in Cory's mind, he had no clue what happened. He could only see through Cory's mind when he was enraged. Angel went on about Zac and how they found Jacob outside. Talked about a failed relationship with a girl called Yu. That was for Cory, Angel said he had never been a relationship before Adam.
"Okay I'm done eating," Angel played around with his straw.
"Same."
"Should we go to the park next?" Angel glanced up.
"Sure?" Adam was okay with it, but Angel sure would get noticed out there. He didn't exactly want to be pushed off. Grabbing his tray he stood up, stilling in his process.
A demon aura.
It was thick around him, swirling around the room. People were oblivious to it, even Angel. The aura was a dark purple, smokey substance, that made his hair stand on end.
Quickly, he grabbed Angel tugging the other out of the restaurant.
