Chapter 3

You really weren't sure what was going on. He told you what buttons were for closing the door and what buttons were for lighting the hallway. He'd tell you which doors to close at what times but you weren't sure why. It was 4am when you checked the time. You figured by the end of the shift he wouldn't say anything to you so you were gonna ask him what was going on that they need to close the doors.

"So why do we have to close these doors? Whats trying to get in?" He looked up at you quickly then back down at the tablet.

"Of course they didn't tell you what the risk of taking this job was. We guard to make sure no one gets in, sure, but the reason for the doors is those damn animatronics come to try and kill us. I'm not surprised they didn't tell you this when you signed up for this position." He continued to check the cameras then cursed. You assumed one of them wasn't in sight.

"Shut the left door! Quick!" Right as you shut the door there was something pounding on it. After a few moments it stopped and you opened the door again. You curiously turned the light on and screamed as the purple bunny animatronic was there. You quickly shut the door and start shaking as you feel your heartbeat increase. You looked over at your coworker and realize you never got his name.Your coworker was too caught up in looking at the cameras to even notice what had happened. Or at least you thought he was.

"You can open the door now and there's no need to scream. As long as you close the doors on time you'll be fine." You scoffed at his reply. This was your first night working here and if he couldn't understand that then he has no emotions. At least that's what you thought. The clock chimed 6am which meant the end of your shift. You stood up still a bit shaky and yawned. You looked at your coworker as he sighed.

"The name's Mike by the way. And you are?" He looked at you with a bored expression, as if he didn't even care.

"My name is y/n. I guess I'll be seeing you again tonight?" He nodded and left, rushing out of the building. You now understood why all the employees there didn't want to stay there during the night. You're just glad you don't have to work the shift alone or you're sure you'd be dead already. You gathered all your stuff and rushed out the doors as well. You didn't want to risk those things going after you. As you walked back to your apartment you couldn't stop thinking of Mike. You weren't sure how long Mike worked there but you figured he's been working there a while now as he already knew at what times to close and open the doors and how quickly it needs to be done. As you entered your apartment, you groaned at the mess knowing later on you'd have to finish unpacking. You collapsed on your mattress immediately falling asleep. When you woke up it was 1pm. You groaned and got showered, got dressed then started unpacking the rest of your things. About half way through your unpacking you heard your phone ringing. You checked to see who it was, it was f/n. You quickly answered it. Before you could say anything, f/n answered first.

"Hey y/n! I was calling to see if you wanted to hang out?" You checked the time, 3pm.

"Sure. Where do you wanna hang out?" Your friend went quiet for a moment thinking.

"How about that cafe we always went to as kids?" You remembered that old cafe. It was your favorite place to hang out

"Yeah sure I'll meet you there." Your friend said goodbye and you hung up. You went to the bathroom to fix your hair up and do some last minute touch ups then left to meet your friend. When you got there she was already there waiting for you with two cups of coffee.

"I got your favorite," they handed you the cup and you nodded a thanks. "So how's your new job?"

"Working a 6 hour shift, at night not to mention, with the risk of dying? It's great! No it's awful. I have a coworker but I don't really like him. He's a bit of a jerk." You sighed as you took another sip of your coffee.

"I'm sure they're just like that because you're new and they have to teach you everything. They'll warm up to you. I mean you are the most awesome person ever!" You chuckled at their response. You just hoped your friend was right. After about an hour or so of talking you had to go back to your apartment to finish unpacking. F/n offered to help but you told them no, that you were almost done anyways. You both said goodbye, hugged and went your separate ways. When you got to your apartment you looked at the time. It was 5pm. You continued to unpack and by the time you were done it was 11:30pm. Time went by fast when you were unpacking. You quickly changed out of your clothes and rushed to the pizzeria. When you checked your watch for the time as you got near the pizzeria was 12am. You were officially late. You ran as fast as you could and when you got inside one of the animatronics were already gone from the stage. Without hesitation you ran to the office, almost falling a few times and collapsed on your seat. Mike looked up from the tablet his facial expression saying he was expecting this.

"Second night on the job and you're late congratulations." Sarcasm was evident in every word. You sighed as you waited for his instructions. Tonight you were determined to get to know Mike better, even if you had to pester him about it
