Tanjiro had spent the rest of the day avoiding everyone. Even if they were irrelevant to his problems he avoided them. He couldn't risk this entire plan he built up falling apart. He opted out of a few classes for the day just to make sure he didn't get caught. He did have the impending guilt weighing him down especially hearing almost constantly how much he was missed when overhearing conversations, but this wasn't their problem, it's unjust to project and put his problems onto others, especially people he loves.
He wonders why he could never seem to put his heart before others.
Coming home Tanjiro was greeted by Nezuko who was walking on her cane. He was immeadiately alarmed, "Nezuko! You're not-"
She cut him off though with a smile and told him, "no worries Tanjiro remember the doctor said I could walk a bit? And besides, staying in bed wouldn't do me much good would it?" Tanjiro, as worried as he was does remember the doctor stating she could walk a bit and she should try to at least gain some of her leg strength and mobility back, however it still was risky due to how weak her body systems were currently.
He inhaled and flashed a soft smile, "Alright, just take it easy? Wouldn't want you getting hurt." She nodded and the delved into conversation, Nezuko knew that her brother had been avoiding his friends and lying to them(he wouldn't call it lying he says "not bringing others into my problems").
She knew bringing up the subject would only make Tanjiro even sadder so she decided to keep her mouth still. It's not as if it would be any different from any of the other arguments they have had over this same issue anyway.
'Your kindness is sometimes the gateway to your cruelty to yourself Tanjiro,' Nezuko thought.
Later in the night when Nezuko had her medicines and had drifted into sleep, Tanjiro decided he wanted to go out again, this time just wherever the wind guided him. So he hugged Nezuko and he was off. He decided he could pick up some medicines for himself while he was out due to him having the money.
The pharmacy was a small walk away so once he arrives Tanjiro spoke to the pharmacy manager and told him the prescriptions he came to pick up and he managed to get a few for free. Due to his neglecting to pick them up the pharmacy knew by law they'd have to get rid of them and the customer that needed them was here so they did him a solid for the next few months.
Tanjiro after a seemingly endless string of thank yous left the place in search of food. He only had little money left but it was something for a meal at least.
There was a nice burger place around right?
As Tanjiro followed the gps on his phone he continued to get the impending feeling of something was about to go horribly wrong. Just as he found the place and was walking toward the entrance he froze.
Because he felt a sting in his hand.
'I have a soulmate here!?'
