Norm and Jake made sure you were propped up and able to rest enough, letting your stitches heal that you .. rather unfortunately .. could not be spared from this time like you had hoped.

"You're in here? What? I thought-"
You barely noticed Jake walking in, half past two AM with dark circles around his eyes.

"What are you talking about Jake?" You ask, reaching for the Bluetooth switch to turn your lamp on.
It's enough to illuminate your bed area, but leaves Niikeym and Da'mik's cribs uninterrupted with the curtain Norm put up for them.

Unlike last time, Norm was able to get an air filtration system put in and placed at the head of your eldest's crib - giving him a far longer chance at staying indoors.
It wasn't for long periods, but it was better than nothing.

"Well.. Shit, I set Tommika down. I thought you were in the common area. I'm seeing things again."
He shuts the bedroom door behind him, and next thing you know he's back in with a panic in his eyes — holding the infant in his arms so carefully.

"I'm just trying to get up here so I can go pee." You grunt, having to push yourself as best you can manage. "Don't judge me."

Jake hates seeing you even remotely struggle with the pain in your abdomen, and before you know it — he lifts you up with his larger blue hands, and easily walks you to the bathroom.

He sets you down, and even takes it upon himself to roll up the end of your nightgown so it rests around your waist.

It doesn't matter how long you'd been together in this life or both, there were still some things you'd rather do alone — this was one of them.

You watch as he steps back out, and presses against the door so it'll shut behind him.

When all is said and done, you're leaning against the counter top and washing your hands when he comes back in — carrying the equivalent of puppy pads that are usually laid out on the bed so he can throw them in the larger trash can.

They're covered in blood and who knows what... the more unpleasant part of childbirth or c-sections. At least it spared you of washing bed sheets all the time.
Jake at least set up a hammock on the other side of the room that his avatar could stay in when you needed the space, that way he was still close with you and the kids regardless of what form he took.

"I can get those, you know? It's my blood, I should be-"

"—Nope. I got it." He chuckles, and leans down to kiss the back of your head before he grabs under the counter for fresh ones. "You act like blood makes me squeamish. I've seen everything. There's nothing you couldn't-"

"I know you were there for the procedure with the twins.. but have you even watched the video of me giving birth to Niikeym? I'd love to see your reaction to that."

"Not yet. I've been rather busy taking care of my four babies."

Or the time your sweet partner mistook a toy for your child.

You were able to be a bit more independent as time went on, at least get out of bed and walk around some.

Even though that meant finding Jake sitting in the chair by your old desk, and cooing at something that definitely wasn't human or Na'vi.
   "Jake? Where's Da'mik?"

"What do you mean?" He asks, showing his arms a bit better with his half closed eyes. "—He's right here."

"No.. that's a stuffed animal Norm made for him." You place a hand on his shoulder, and walk over to his crib — where he lays, content and asleep. Jake must have forgotten he was put to bed already.

He's been overworking himself so you don't have to even so much as get up, and while it was appreciated... it was causing him to over exert what energy he could.

You feel Jake's hand come to your lower back, and he sighs in relief when he notices the little one there. Between his older brothers crib, and his younger sisters.

"Fucking hell." He breathes under his breath, clearly frustrated at himself.

"Can you get Niikeym a new onesie from the drawer?" You ask, sitting on the wooden floor of your outdoor hut with Avatar-Jake. "-He's going to get cold with how cool they keep the AC indoors."

"Where?" He asks, seemingly rather lost.

"...the dresser?" You point, but he misses it.

"Where's that?" He wipes his nose with the back of his hand and sniffles while he blinks, clearly half asleep as he stands there like a board he's almost so straight. "Oh."

"Jake, what? You made me that dresser."
Niikeym sits up on his own as you reach a smaller arm out to grab for Jake, and bring him in closer. "—Babe, you need to get some sleep. I appreciate you trying to play main caretaker here as I heal - but you're driving yourself insane. I'll have Trudy help out and you can take the day off and go nap. Okay? I can walk now, I can hold the babies on my own.. I'm okay for the basics."

He seems to stumble a bit, and his hand comes around the back of your head as he hums lowly and tries to hug you despite the height difference.
"Okay." He barely words, and the next thing you know he sits down and the Avatar goes completely limp.
