Chapter 21: Poor Baby

I was going to remove my hand from Bailey's to wipe the tears away, but she squeezed my hand. Bailey squeezed my hand! I stood up from the chair and held on to her hand as tight as I possibly could.

"Bailey? Bailey! Are you getting up?" I ask hurriedly

She started to open her eyes and I freaked out.

"Doctor! Doctor!!" I yell and suddenly nurses hurry in along with her doctor

"You need to leave." I nurse tells me and starts pushing me toward the door

"No! She's waking up! She needs me!" I fight but am already pushed outside the door

I immediately dial Kai and tell him what happened. Then I did what I haven't done in the past 8 months. I called Emmett.

"Hello?" Emmett answered. But his voice sounded so foreign to me I didn't even recognize it at first

"Emmett! Bailey is waking up! Get down here fast!" I say quickly

"What? She what?!" He asks

"She's getting up! Hurry!" I say and end the call

Soon enough Emmett and Kai both got here. And we were all sat in the waiting area. With Kai nervously biting his nails and Emmett glaring at the floor like it killed his own mother, I decided I'd try and talk to Em

"Hey." I say and move closer to him

"What." He says stiffly

"Where have you been?" I ask him

"Places." He simply states,

"Where?" I ask again

"Somewhere." He states again. I let out a frustrated sigh and glared at him

"You know what? I tried Emmett. I tried to still be friends with you when you rarely came home, but all I've ever gotten in return was shady answers. And honestly I really don't need this. Fuck you Em. " I say and get up to move when he grabbed my wrist. I turn to look at him

"What?" I ask

"Fuck you? Really? You're getting that upset Nicky?" He asked rolling his eyes

"Oh. I don't know considering that I've rarely seen you in the past 8 months, and when I actually try to talk to you again, you act like a total douche you deserve a 'fuck you'." I answer him scoffing

"Nicky you don't know wha-"

"Hello everyone, Ms. Manchester is awake and you may visit her." A nurse interrupted Emmett.

I got up from my seat and ran inside Bailey's room. She was looking around at everything and when she saw me she relaxed

"Nicky?" She asked

"Bails!" I cried out and ran to her, immediately engulfing her into a hug

"Bailey I missed you so much!" I said as a tear rolled down my cheek

"Bailey?" Kai asked entering the room in shock

"Kai?" Bailey let go of me and held her arms open for Kai to come to her. He ran and they had this sort of "couples moment". And it was awkward to watch so I stepped outside for a little. And after a while Emmett walked outside too

"Um. Hey" Emmett comes and sits next to me

I turn to him and scoff

"So now you wanna talk huh?" I ask him rolling my eyes

But as I look at Emmett, I begin to notice things I didn't see before. Like how he looks like he hasn't slept for a while. He looks paler than normal, and he just doesn't seem like the Emmett I once knew.
