“We create our fate every day we live” -Henry Miller quotes (American Author and Writer, 1891-1980)

"How about skateboarding?" Sean suggested, deep in thought.

Dylan shook his head, a smirk played on his lips as he smack Sean. "Are you stupid? Who doesn't know how to skateboard?"

I smiled weakly, but their attention was on the person who was at the door. Iris Langton.

"You're late, Miss. Langton" Mr. Kersey said, not even looking up from his book. She nodded her head and looked around the room. Some of her friends waved her over and she went in that direction.

"I got it!" Dylan and Sean said in unison.

I raised an eyebrow as Dylan's blue eyes lit up with excitement.

"What do you guys...have in mind?" I asked slowly.

"No, I had the idea first" Dylan said, messing up Sean's blonde hair.

Sean snorted, "Yeah, in your mind you did. We all knew that I had it first."

"What the fuck is the idea?" I nearly yelled. They stopped fighting, and stared at me, wide eyed. The classroom got a little bit more quiet, but then soon got loud again. "Whoa man, chill" Sean said, leaning back in his seat.

"Okay, so pick a number, both of you. Between one and ten" Dylan said writing the umber down on a piece of paper. Sean tried to take a peak at it, but get pushed to the ground. We started laughing as he went down with a thump.

"Pick a number" Dylan said to me.

I tapped the desk, thinking, "Eight."

Dylan pointed to Sean with his chin, "Four."

"ten."

"One."

"Two" I said.

Dylan pointed at me, "It was two."

"What?" Sean said, getting in Dylan's face. I smacked my forehead, already knowing that they were going to get on my nerves a lot.

They broke it up, and Dylan opened up his notebook. His dark brown hair was sticking up in every direction possible. He opened it up to a blank page and started writing. "Okay, so the plan is that you"-he pointed at me then wrote my name down-"are going to be the guy to help out a special girl. A friend of mine."

"You mean ours" Sean corrected him.

"Who is she?" I asked, leaning forward.

They both turned around and pointed right at Iris. Iris Langton.

She flipped her hair and smiled at her friends. I gulped loudly causing them to start laughing at me. My cheeks started to get hotter as she looked in my direction. I turned around and put my head on the desk. At that moment, the bell rang and we all filed out.

"Yo Austin! There's a party tonight, get ready man" Sean said quietly. I nodded my head, regretting that I ever picked the number two.

"I hate the number two now" I muttered to myself.

"What?"

I turned around and their she was, her green eyes looked at me with confusing. I shook my head, 'Sorry, I was just um..Talking about that project we have to do for english."

Slowly, Iris nodded her head, "Okay then."

I gave her a weak smiled as started to walk away. Only to realize that we had Math together.
