The Weak Component

"Great. I'll keep these drones away from Jetstorm and Tankor. Making sure they don't regroup to run us down. You in, Nightscream?" Cheetor requested.

"You bet, but I'm gonna risk being overloading my capacitors. Maybe we'd take them right in the zapping chambers to whittle them down a peg." Nightscream suggested, pointing to the barrier with electricity.

"Great idea. Let's do it. You lead them and I'll take 'em from behind." Cheetor said brandishing his swords. They split up, with Cheetor running across the halls to attract more Vehicons  in blurring speeds, deflecting blasts back at the armored Vehicons along the way. Seeing the destruction enacted by his defense, Cheetor then hailed Rattrap "How's it doing, Rattrap? You got the intel we need?"

"Pretty sure he's doing all he can." Perceptor pointed out.

"Almost done, kitty cat. Just gotta press in a few more buttons and-" a beep occurred in the computer Rattrap was clicking about. "There we go!" but as soon as he saw Nightscream being cornered by Jetstorm and Tankor, he asked Cheetor "Hey, what's with the kid being caught in the corner, kitty?!"

"Trust me, I got a plan!" Cheetor replied rushing at both Vehicon generals from behind. "Get back to base, Rattrap!"

"Now!" Nightscream signalled as he then jumped out of the way as Cheetor then dropkicked both Tankor and Jetstorm to the zapping chamber, giving both an agonizing zap around their chassis, but Tankor's misfire at Cheetor had destroyed the nearby console, causing the production and assembly of more Vehicons to speed up so insanely quick that so many of the produced armored drones began to act mindlessly rather than pursue the Maximals.

"So, the production they made was considerably unfinished, the drones act like mindless probes and the facility is at complete risk." Perceptor pointed out. "It seemed like entering that chamber required time for the programming to take place before they would be dispatched as the soldiers of the Vehicons."

"Illogical. Very illogical." Shockwave replied. "And to think our Vehicons had better mental processing than that."

"This could have served a blow to Megatron's operations, but I doubt it's of his concern." Skyquake pointed out.

"Why would the future Megatron care about a handful of drones, brother? You've seen how he even exterminated Inferno and Quickstrike callously." Dreadwing replied.

As Megatron chuckled in his witnessing of the incoming destruction of at least ONE of the Maximals by an airborne Vehicon, Rattrap in particular, Cheetor then tackles him out of the way, as a blast from the mindless drones began to emit a power flux that instead harmed Megatron, sending him falling to the ground. 

He tried to get up, but commented "I hate that rat." before he faceplanted again.

The young Autobots couldn't help but laugh at the future Megatron's misfortune; the ancestor of the latter was quite amused, but didn't bother to laugh.

Back at Maximal Base, Rattrap handed Cheetor the intel. "Cleaned up, and kept in a secure channel that Mega-butt doesn't know about, kitty!" 

"Good job, Rattrap. You've done good for now, but-" upon witnessing Rattrap's transformation fits, Cheetor commanded "You'd better stay with Big Bot, Blackarachnia's coming with us for the meantime."

"It's about me and my transformation fits, is it?" Rattrap challenged.

"Yeah, but more importantly, I need someone to keep an optic out to make sure Optimus doesn't get snatched." Cheetor replied.

"Smart choice. Leaving a rat that has yet to master his transformation to keep after your incapacitated leader." Wheeljack replied sardonically.

"Rattrap's a pain, but at least he knows what it means to be on the side of the righteous. He just has a cynical view on it that ensures his transformation isn't that easy." Silverbolt replied.
