THIS IS NOT REAL GREEK MYTHOLOGY. THIS IS SIMPLY A STORY I WROTE USING GREEK TITAN(ESSE)S.

Helios loved Selene very much. He was constantly shining his light on her and making her look ever more mesmerizing no matter in what way his blinding light hit her figure.

Unfortunately for Helios, Selene loved Gaia more than anything. She loved Gaia for all the life she had created, and she especially loved the large bodies of water Gaia held. Selene was always following Gaia, awed by Gaia's ever-growing beauty.

Alas, Gaia, too, loved another. Gaia loved Helios for everything he was. She was always comfortably warm and was constantly growing something new because of Helios' light and warmth. Gaia was always circling Helios, however far more distantly than Selene followed her. She followed Helios and loved him to no end. Helios' presence alone made Gaia warmer and brighter and kept something growing on her all the time.

When Helios learned that Selene loved Gaia over him, he was devastated. Helios began losing his light and grew colder. This change in Helios' warmth and light was purely catastrophic for Gaia. Her plants began wilting due to Helios' dimming light. Gaia herself turned colder and dimmer- as she had less to bounce back from Helios, and the energy that Helios' presence gave Gaia was lessening.

Selene saw how much Helios' change was affecting Gaia and decided to take a risk— to make a sacrifice. Selene hid behind Gaia, knowing Helios would be unable to see her, knowing the only thing in sight would be Gaia. Helios looked upon Selene's usual place and found her to be missing. However, Helios noticed someone else; Gaia. Helios saw Gaia's beguiling waters, which Selene loved so, and saw her wonderful, gorgeous trees and rolling fields, and oh, the flowers upon her wondrous planes were beautiful enough to last an eternity. Helios fell in love with Gaia, and he brightened up when he realized she had loved him for centuries.

Helios getting brighter and warmer again helped Gaia's situation considerably. The growing plants were healthy once more, Gaia's surface glowed from Helios' radiant sunbeams once again, and the energies Helios unknowingly gave Gaia were restored.

Selene saw how Gaia was regaining her full grandeur and felt it safe to move back to her usual station, hoping Helios wouldn't lose love for Gaia and break it all over again. Helios still shone his dazzling light on Selene, but when Selene feels as if Helios is drifting away from Gaia and towards her, Selene hides herself once again for a short while, and goes back to her place when she feels it is safe to do so.

This now happens every once in a while, and while Selene is heartbroken by Gaia's love of Helios, she knows her one and only love is happy and warm, and she is content with that truth.
