Jackson – August 2024

Life in Jackson has been slow lately, when you and tommy arrived all those years ago it was just a

small town with hardly anyone or anything in it but over the years, weve become a gated

community, as much as Tommy hates to admit it, we are a commune. When you arrived in Jackson,

youd just left the Fireflies and had nothing but tommy and the pistol you had when tommy first

saved your life that day.

Maria, a tall, proud and insanely defensive person was kind enough to set you up in a small little

home, two bedrooms and a bathroom and then your usual kitchen and living room downstairs. You

decided to use the spare bedroom as a little library full of books you collected on your patrols it

started out quite small, but it very quickly grew when the people around Jackson found out you liked

to read and started gifting you books for any and every occasion, Jackson still decided to celebrate.

Maria you could tell was nervous to let you settle into Jackson at first, I guess your reputation follows

you from the Fireflies all the way to Jackson.

To the Fireflies, you were known as the Mockingjay from your favourite book, The Hunger Games.

You were called this because you always hit on target and never missed, you were swift, and you

never once got hit just like Katniss Everdeen from the books. Maria also knew this nickname

somehow whether tommy had told her or she has ex fireflies within Jackson and they told her

anyway doesnt matter now because you proved your worth on patrols and you took any and every

shift you could as soon as you were approved to go out, you quickly became the talk of the town

especially because Eugene wouldnt stop telling everyone how good of a shot you are. Maria felt that

Jackson was safer with you out on patrol than saving lives in the clinic, so you took up a full-time

position in patrolling.

It took a little bit of work for the rest of the town to trust you but people very quickly knew you

wouldnt hurt them unless they hurt tommy and thats the thing you and tommy had become

extremely close during the firefly days to the point where you couldnt even sleep in separate rooms

until around two years ago when he first met maria in the tipsy bison and he used his usual cheesy

pick up lines which made her laugh and evidently it worked because when him and maria became a

couple, youd noticed it over your time in Jackson they became closer and tommy started sneaking

out at night when he thought you were asleep, you werent. you also couldnt help yourself in telling

him a quick I told you so because you did tell him that they would end up together and he didnt

believe for love nor money and just laughed you off.

Jessie was on his first patrol with you today, hes just turned 18 and maria thought it would be a good

idea for you to be his trainer, I guess. It made you uneasy having such a young life hanging on your

shoulders, but you agreed nonetheless because you know that maria would never leave you alone if
