No one's POV:

It was a dark, rainy day, and not many people were out. In town, there was a street market stall that had locally grown fruits and vegetables. Suddenly a little boy, by the name of y/n, appeared and disappeared just as quickly. He had managed to grab an apple from the stand, one that was crisp and juicy, and picked just that morning before the rain.

Another costumer saw Y/n and alerted the shopkeeper. Let's just say that the shopkeeper was not pleased. Y/n started to run, all the while, he was being chased by the shopkeeper.

"Hey, get back here!" The shopkeeper yelled at Y/n. He followed him for around another block before he stopped, not being able to see the child anymore. Y/n, who appeared not even 5 yet, had disappeared into an alleyway nearby and started running farther in.

Y/n kept running til he reached a dead-end in the alleyway. He didn't know where he was, all he knew was that he had food, and that he was safe, for now.

Your POV:

I lost the old dude! I can't believe it, I got food! It's cold and wet here though, I don't like it. I start to eat my apple, and sit down against the wall. I hear a deep laugh coming from deep in the alleyway.

"W-who's there!" I call out and wait for a response. I'm scared. I normally don't go this far into town.

"And who might you be little guy?" The disembodied voice says. All I can see is the glow of the streetlights on the person's or thing's eyes.

"I-I asked y-you first," I call back trying to must up courage. I can't go back not to them

"Hey, calm down kid. I mean no harm, if you corporate that is," he says laughing. He can't be serious, what does he want from me? "You must be wondering what I need from you, isn't that right?" I nod my head as he continues, "How would you like to join my little 'family', child?" he asks me.

I look up at this person as he steps into the light. He's tall and has white hair, he's wearing a suit and seems like he's legitimately interested in me. I look up at him.

"Why me?" I ask and then continue in a whisper, "I'm quirkless."

"Because you have great potential, child. You are a clear thinker and an active listener. You were cast away from society for something that you could not control," he explains and he starts to whisper this but I hear him, "and you remind me a little of myself."

I look up at him with tears in my eyes and smile a big genuine smile. I don't even remember the last time someone was okay with me being me or even the fact that I existed. "Okay, I'll join your 'family', sir."

I couldn't believe it.

I finally had a 'family' to call my own.

I wasn't alone anymore.

I was safe.
