"Ah... sorry."
Choi Jung Soo smiled sheepishly at him, looking almost more guilty than when he drove away.
"Sorry Rok Soo! You slept through the whole lunch break and didn't eat so..."
He avoided eye contact with Rok Soo as he slowly pulled a tray of food from the cafeteria from behind him.
"What... I— thank you."
Choi Jung Soo brightened, smiling as he placed the tray next to Kim Rok Soo, moving a stack of paper out of the way to put it down.
"Um–I got you a pork bun!"
"Mmm..."
He groggily wiped the sleep out of his eyes, yawning into his hand.
"...could I sit with you?"
Kim Rok Soo's eyes widened as he turned to see Jung Soo shyly asking.
The two of them hadn't talked much since the break up, out of work they hardly even crossed paths. It also added that Kim Rok Soo was avoiding him but... he would do what has to be done to avoid awkwardness.
"...you can do whatever you want."
Choi Jung Soo's eyes brightened as he leapt forward to grab a chair, excitedly sitting down next to him.
...was he a dog? To be that over excited just by sitting next to him...
"Hey Rok Soo, I heard you moved to the outskirts of town, right? That's so far away from the company, isn't that expensive?"
And now that dog was yapping loudly in his ear.
"It is."
He'll just continue eating until he goes away, a few small responses would eventually make him want to leave right?
Choi Jung Soo's face glowed with joy. From such a small response?
"Ah! And I heard you were driving Jang Suhye-ssi from team 2 home too right? I heard she lives in that area."
"Mmm."
Kim Rok Soo began to slowly tune Choi Jung Soo out, opting to focus on his food and work in front of him rather than the blabbering man beside him.
"Rok Soo, do you wanna... hang out sometime? Like when we went shopping together last time! Except that was to help you buy a gift for someone's birthday, but I've been wanting to try out that new cafe recently. You know the one nearby your area?"
The voice made him snap out of his stupor, eyes widening as he turned to the man who sat there. Just. stare.
"Ah, ah– sorry, I was just– um, been wanting to go there and– you live nearby there, so I thought I might as well ask if you want to go too– and not just because you live there but you're my friend and all so..."
Wow... he was an absolute stumbling idiot.
"Sure."
And yet he still listened to this stumbling idiot.
Choi Jung Soo caped at him, eyes wide as he looked at him dumbly.
"Are you free tomorrow? It's a Saturday so there shouldn't be any work."
Choi Jung Soo nodded dumbly, still in a trance.
"Alright then, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye."
He waved as he stood up to leave, grabbing his bags and some paperwork to work on later.
Kim Rok Soo smirked as he walked away, was he being a bit mean to him? Yes. Was he having fun doing it? Absolutely.
The man was just too fun to tease.
