Kim Rok Soo, as reluctant as he was to admit it, had to say that he was enjoying the day. To be able to spend the day with the girl who was practically his younger sister, eating good food, and doing what she wants... was a surprisingly enjoyable day.

(The 'doing what she wants' part was not fun. Being forced to spar with her...)

And so now they were sitting in his car, on his way to drop her home. She was singing along to the music of the radio, and Kim Rok Soo hummed along at the few songs he recognised.

"Oppa! Thank you for today, it was really fun!"

He smiled at her, the same light kind he'd worn all day.

"It was..."

He slowly pulled into the driveway of her apartment, a part of him was disappointed that the day was over so soon.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow. Have a nice night oppa."

She began to get up to leave the car before Kim Rok Soo stopped her.

"Suhye. Wait a minute I still have something to give you."

"What? Didn't you already give me a gift? You basically paid for everything today! I know how much you dislike spending a lot. I don't need anything else, really!"

"No, this is my real gift, those other things were just small ones."

Suhye only gaped at him, worry and guilt in her eyes.

He slowly reached for the tall, plain black box he had hiding in the back of the car.

It had a small blue ribbon tied around the box, the gift he had spent hours looking for.

"Here."

His voice was a little quieter than usual from nervousness, he had worked hard to find the perfect gift for her and if she didn't like it then it really would all be for waste.

Suhye slowly reached for the box, her eyes shining in anticipation.

She gasped, as she turned her head up to look at him.

"Wow... I just– where did you even find this! And one of such high quality..."

In her hands was a sword, a high quality one with a thick leather sheath beside it. One that Kim Rok Soo had spent hours searching for, making sure that it would be perfect. He had even jumped the gun and talked to Choi Jung Soo about swords to find one... it had been the first time they'd spoken since he had driven away back then.

"It's nothing. I just wanted to make sure you had a good gift."

He looked up to meet her eyes to see tears slowly dripping from her eyes.

"Ah, are you...?"

She was crying. Oh god, Kim Rok Soo was useless with these kinds of things. What was he even supposed to do?

Luckily, she answered that question for him without even needing to say it aloud. Jang Suhye reached forward, wary of the box still in her lap, and hugged him.

"Thank you, this is the best gift I've ever gotten."

And so they sat there like that, happy to just be there.

Kim Rok Soo was woken up with an abrupt shake. He whirled around, eyes wide, throwing his fist at whatever had woken him.

"Ack— ouch... that hurts Rok Soo!"

He flinched, so lightly no one even noticed, his grip loosening from where his hand clenched on Choi Jung Soo's wrist.
