Chapter 36: Lazarus

"Setsuki...Kill him."

"As you wish, master," Setsuki replied.

Setuski vanished from sight. In seconds, he appeared in front of Jaune. With his left hand folded and sharp like a knife, he strikes at Jaune's heart, only for the latter to grab the insect's wrist and stop his attack.

With his free hand, Jaune swiftly cut off Setsuki's left arm. Setsuki leaped back. He began to bleed out. However, in seconds, his left arm grew back.

Jaune, not looking the least bit surprised, reached at his waist. Soon, he pulled out Kotetsu in his right hand and Hades in his left hand.

Setsuki and some of the others were shocked to see those weapons.

"Why do you have those?"

"I bet you do recognize them, Setsuki," Jaune said.

Setuski and the rest were further surprised Jaune knew the insectoid's name.

"A long time ago, you, by extension of your master, worked for Creed Diskenth and fought Train Heartnet-Arc, AKA Black Cat."

Jaune brandished the weapons as if they were trophies.

"You see these? I fought Train and Creed and won. Their weapons are proof of that."

 "However, despite defeating Train, he was never able to defeat you."

"Understandable."

"After all, you wouldn't stop coming back no matter how devastating the attack thrown at you was because you are linked to your master."

"As long as your master is alive and has ki, she can keep bringing you back up."

"Hmph!" Setsuki snorted, "So, what? You think you'll last long?"

"Then, take this into account," Jaune replied.

Jaune's Kotetsu was imbued with an aura blade.

"In a battle of attrition, I reign supreme!" Jaune yelled before pointing Hades out.

"Then prepare to be deposed!" Setsuki shouted back.

Jaune fired two aura bullets, but with quick reflexes, Setsuki caught the two bullets.

"Heh. Just like Black Cat."

Jaune smirked.

"Did you really think that would work?"

Suddenly, the aura bullets exploded. As the smoke cleared, the top of Setsuki was blown away. In seconds, he began regenerating the missing body parts, including his head.

"I'll give you points for creativity," Setsuki started, "But let's see how you fare about this."

Setsuki opened his mouth. Soon, the deafening sound of a supersonic scream could be heard. Suddenly, a laser-like beam shot out from his mouth.

Jaune sidestepped, avoiding the attack as it cut across the temple floors.

"Ah, yes. The sound of death," Jaune said.

"You can emit hyperized high-pitched sound waves that can cut through nearly anything."

"You know about this too, huh?" Setsuki asked.

"It's one of the many reasons I want to study Tao."

*SLASH!*

Setsuki's head was taken off in a single swing by Jaune's Kotetsu.
