'Cause I'm with You And You're With Me (sequel)

Chapter Four

Jay's POV

Max managed to calm down after draining my fridge of alcohol with the help of Siva and Tom. Luckily Nathan was safely behind bars at the station still, apparently he had a lot of question waiting for him when he woke from his drunken slumber - most likely with a banging headache judging by his behaviour. 

Inbetween swallowing mouthfulls we did come to some conclusions:

Becca was behind the killings

There was a chance she could still be in the area

We HAVE to find her before the poilce do

We needed Nathan for the above to work

Nathan needed to be sober for the above

We tell the police nothing of ANY of the above 

"Well she has to be in the area still" Siva said.

"Yea, but how will we know? She could be in a whole new town by now" Tom replied.

"Nah I don't think she'd move that fast, this place isn't that small, my guess is that we have about two days to search for her here" Max nodded and we all agreed. 

"So what's the deal about Nath?" Tom asked , sounding worried.

"My guess is she obviously doesn't like him, not after he betrayed her....us. But she wants answers like us. So we use him to find her. But we aren't 'using' him he can have the option of staying or he can leave" I shrugged and gulped down more beer.

"And if he says no?" 

"He won't " I smirked.

"Oh the orcale has spoken" Max grinned putting his hands up "But seriously why won't he?"

"He probably likes Becca still" I sighed, "once he remembers she isn't annoying or pathetic" They seemed to agree.

Apprehension consumed us all as we wearily waited for Nathan to be let out. Seev had rung the station that day, he was free. Appart from the fact they wanted to question him about Becca (apparently pointless) he hadn't actually done anything illegal. Turns out you can't be jailed for trying to seduce an officer... or so they say. 

He had his head down and looked tired even for a vampire. His eyes seem to hang in their sockets and all memories of what must have been a hilarious night a day or so ago had vanished. He collected his belongings from the desk then we left .

"You didn't have to come" He said starring off into the distance as we leant on the wall waiting for Tom to finish his cigarrete. 

I simply shrugged "The majority didn't want to" to which he laughed a little. 

"Why am I not surprised?"

"Because you  screwed things up " Tom said bitterly. 

"What do you want me to do, rewind the time?" Nathan said sarcasm in his tone.

" Aha what good would that do ? Watch us get betrayed again?" Tom responded.

"We need answers-"

"I know ! Ok ?!? I know...!" He said, slightly raising his voice.

"If I let you come back to mine , will you promise not to get drunk and sing?"

I saw him flash a small grin "What you trying to say?" 

 The walk back to the flat (again) was a little on the awkward side. But as soon as we were through the door we explained the plan. Adding in that we planned to start by seaching the woods.
