Wednesday's POV

In the taxi, on my way back to Nevermore.

It's only slightly different, considering we have new teachers. I'm never excited for school, but today I want to disintegrate.

Suddenly, my mother, Morticia rests her hand on my thigh. I stare at her, disgusted but also wondering why she thought I'd be okay with such a close act of affection.

"You'll never change, will you, Wednesday? " my mother suddenly remarks, with a tiny bit of inquiry but also the knowledge of the answer.

Nevertheless, I reply to her with the simple answer, "No. I will not. "

My mother sighs as she begun the lovely, eternal silence for the rest of the way to Nevermore. I love silence. It starts to calm my annoyance of needing to return a little, the only thing calming it... Other than Enid. I don't understand why I care for the girl so much, she's just like everyone else. Except... She isn't. There's something so addictive about being with her and speaking to her that I never get with anybody, I never even got it with Tyler, and we shared a moment of intimacy. There is nothing special about her, she's an ordinary, hyper, werewolf... At least as ordinary as somebody can get in Nevermore.

Over the summer break, I stayed inside and thought of her. Not anyone else, just her. I don't understand it. I've never felt this feeling before.

What is this absurd feeling?

It feels as if without her I'm... Upset?
But that doesn't make sense.
I don't feel love, affection, empathy or sympathy for anybody. I'm a very solitude person, I'm happy with being alone.

Well... I was. Until that girl came into my life. I don't know what curse she has put on me but it has to stop because I just cannot stop thinking about her. Ugh. She is such a burden. A beautiful, sweet burden... No. Don't turn to the dark side. She is not beautiful. She is not sweet. She is not anything but a distraction.

What is she doing to me?
