When Addy finally reached the Hicks household, it was surrounded people, and ambulance and a coiple of police cars.
"Shit." Addy said, climbing out of her car.
She climbed under the police line, and walked up the porch where Judy's body was being covered with a piece of tarp and loaded onto a gurney, the same with Wes'.
She was too late.
Addy turned around and walked away, rapidly blinking away the tears that sprung to her eyes. She almost walked into someone, had they not put their hands on the blonde's shoulders, stopping them from walking further.
"Woah, Addy, you OK?" Sam asked.
"Oh, yeah, I'm perfectly fine." Addy sniffed, sarcasm lacing her voice.
"Come on." Sam said, wrapping an arm around he shoulders and leading her away from the crime scene.
They stood on the other side of the police line, waiting for someone to tell them to leave.
"Excuse me." A familiar voice said from behind them.
"Gale." Addy said, wrapping her arms around the womans middle.
"Hey, Ads. Are you OK?" She asked. Addy nodded, detaching herself from the repirter and standing back beside Sam.
"Oh, my God. You're... Well, you're you." Sam said, obviously slightly fangirling.
"Last time I checked." Gale saidn chuckling slightly, "Are you okay? You seem like you're having a bit of a moment. Did you know the sheriff?"
"Sort of." Sam said, "She didn't like me very much."
"She didn't really like me either." Gale admitted.
"You said her lemon squares tasted like ass, of course she doesn't like you." Addy said to Gale, who glared at her.
"Yeah, so did you." Gale pointed out, recalling the memory.
"That's... not significant right now." Addy saidn struggling to cone up with a response.
"Um, I'm Samantha. Sam. Carpetner." Sam managed to get out, "My sister and I were attacked."
"Oh. Sorry to hear that." Gale said, sounding sympathetic, "I'm Gale..."
She trailed off, looking behind them at someone behind them. "Riley." She said quietly, "Weathers. I'm Gale Weathers. Excuse me."
Gale ran off, under the police line and approached Dewey. "Gale?" He said, evidently confused. She began to yell at him, punching his arm, something about a text.
Addy sighed. "Love is in the air." She said, turning to Sam, who raised her eyebrows at her.
"Believe what you want to believe, I guess." Sam muttered.
Sam took out her phone and dialled a number.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Sam said.
"Richie..." she said, trying to get his attention. "Richie! Richie, listen to me. He killed two more people. Wes and his mother."
"He killed the sheriff? You can do that?" Addy heard Richie ask over the phone. She rolled her eyes.
"Of course you can kill the sheriff, dumbass." She said into the phone.
"I'll call you right back." Sam said as she caught sight of Deputy Vinson leaving the Hicks household.
She hung up on Richie, running over to the deputy, Addy hot on her heels.
"Who's at the hospital?" She demanded. When he stuggled for an answer, Sam yelled, "Who's watching my sister?"
"I just heard about the sheriff." He reasoned.
