Ashely POV
"Run and don't stop" was the only thing I had on my mind as I ran through the hot desert
The prickly thorns on plants I didn't have the time to identify battered my legs and arms. My feet ached and I panted as a hot gush of wind was thrown at me. Even if my clothing is ripped, I'm sure it doesn't make much of a difference considering all I'm ever given to wear are short sleeves and incredibly short shorts.
Still, none of that mattered since the most important thing right now was getting away from that shit hole, that nightmare...

...Ever since I could remembered, I was treated as an object. Beaten, tortured, forced to pursue harsh "training" to be even worthy to be aknowledged as a part of the "family", even raped. It was harsh, scarring, but I didn't dare object. After all, I thought it was normal. That was until I overheard the conversation between mother and grandfather
"It's time, for that thing to finally be it's worth." Grandfather exclaimed proudly
"That is right, Father. I am surprised that there was even someone willing to marry Ashely. There's not much that pile of rubbish can offer other than sexual pleasure" Mother commented.
"Cobgren is such a pawn. An excellent one at that. He's nothing more then a dumb, naive pig that is where he is thanks to his father. I guess that useless piece of shit finally found something worth his time. Let us think of it as a scum for a scum." Grandfather said in disgust.
"Yes. The ceremony shall begin tomorrow night at moonrise" Mother said.
I wanted to burst into tears. I questioned myself as my eyes teared up. After everything I endured for them, WHY? They never even cared about me in the first place... so why have I stayed? I've already figured out where the exit was, so why? I'm such a dumb, naive fool, holding on to false hope like that. God, mother would scold me if she saw me right now.
But I quickly regained my senses. I couldn't bear staying here , I had to leave "Cry later, the most important thing right now is getting out this shithole..." I said to myself as I determinedly wiped away my tears.

"Ah ah ah, got to keep running," I said as I panted, running through the sand and dead grass. Although I hate to say it, I do suppose all that hard labor wasn't for nothing.
I have never left the base on my own before, I've only ever left for missions and tasks, so this was obviously a new and horrifying experience for me.
But even though I haven't been out much, I remember every entry, exit, secret entrance, and weak point of the base, even the roads from the main streets that lead to this place. So being lost is not really a problem...but by now people must have notice that I'm gone. Which is a problem since I don't have weapons on me.
Godammit Ashley, you were too caught up in your own little word while you should have been grabbing weapons.
"SPILT INTO GROUPS NOW, AND FIND HER! SHE MUSN'T HAVE GONE THAT FAR!" a voice ordered from a distance.
I immediately knew that it was mother, and perhaps it's just because of my trained hearing, but didn't she sound less that a mile away? I ran even faster.
The sky begin to rumbled as I look up, "Godamnit, fuck you Zeus!" I complained as the clouds darken and came together, covering any bit of moonlight that guided me
Just my luck, I sighed and kept running.

God, I- ugh, I am sooo thirsty. I mean, I've been running in the desert for a few hours now, and since it is night, i do not believe it should be this hot. Luckily, there should be a village somewhere nearby that I can use to freshen up, get the supplies I need, and leave this place for good.
But no. Because God just LOVES to play with us.
I became even more alert as I heard footsteps approaching. "Fuck" I cursed. I looked around and saw 4 figures running towards me.
But one managed to surpass all the others and immediatly began to attack me, "Lady Ashely, please come back or we will have to escort you by force."
I kicked him in the shins, and said "Tell my mother to fuck off, I am never coming back to this shit hole."
"My lady, such vulgar language! I knew Lady Talia shouldn't have shown you American Television. There are much better materials that can be used to study America." my trainer said when she tried to punch me from behind.
I dodged, and gave her a punch back. "Fucking Television has taught me more than you ever did!" I shouted as I kicked her in her stomach.
The two other people have finally caught up to me and both tried to land a punch of their own on me, which I dodged.
"Ladies, please calm your excitment and come to me one at a time." I teased which caused all 3 to quickly come at me.
I dodged the first punch that came to me and grabed the fist and punch it to the other person. I then kicked the dude shins for the second time which he fainted. "I am so sorry for your future childrens which you won't be able to have." I said as I looked at the unconscious man and then kick him to the side.
The amount of determination that filled me as I managed a glimpse of the village was overwhelming. Suddenly, just as things were going well, I spotted lots of light coming from an area ahead of me. Since I was kicked by my trainer from earlier, I didn't get to see what they were
"Fuck," I said as the pain shot through me. I tried to stand up but was just punched right down by the trainer, "Oh my lady, finally listening?" she smirked.
I tried to get up again, I can't lose hope. I was so close, so close to the village. "COME ON!" I said to myself.
But of course my trainer beat my reality back into me. She continued to beat me as my red blood painted my face, my vision was getting blurry.
"You are such an ungrateful girl, lady Talia has given you such an opportunity to finally be use to her and this is what you do?" She rambles as she kicked me in my stomach.
"You are such a bad girl! And a terrible student! You better be grateful that I am teaching you!" she pulled my hair and continue to beat me, forgetting the point of the mission is bringing me back alive as I slowly becoming unconscious.
I took many lives before, and had a close relationship with death. So as my eyes begin to close, I knew death was coming. This can't be it, it can't end like this! I HAVE TO LIVE! I thought to myself as tears begin to fall down, unnoticeable because the red blood was mixed with.
"Why do you want to live?" a voice called out.
"So I can try and experience the things that life offers. Trying fastfood for the first time, petting a dog, and finally live for myself, not for mother, not for God, and not for anyone else." I said, not caring that I was talking to an unknown voice.
"Hmm, alright then. You'll survive this, but I can't promise you your life will get better. I'll give you some energy for about a day for you to get to the village and leave the country, like intended on doing. From there on, your on your own. Always remember why you ran away, it seems that information might just be extremely valuable in the near future. Good luck, Ashley Al Ghul.
