it was 3:06 am and willow was just trying to sleep. her insomnia has been getting better, but on nights like these she would find herself struggling to go to bed.

the weather outside was humid and so was the same inside her home. her parents did not put on the a/c so willow decided to get out of bed and open her window.

she sighed, knowing an open window wouldn't help how icky and hot she felt. willow stood by the window, hoping to get a nice breeze but it never came.

instead, she saw a boy. preferably around 19 or 20, with curly long brown hair. he was tall, he wore ripped jeans which were dirty, and a black shirt which had holes all over it. he looked intoxicated, willow heard the boy slur some words but she could not fathom his words into full sentences. she watched him for a couple more minutes, somehow amazed by his actions. it was like her eyes were glued on him and only him.

he walked across the street, still in willows sight. the intoxicated boy was walking in an unnatural way, and willow was getting worried. the boy finally sat down, next to a garbage can. willow felt pity for him, he was dirty and alone. she wondered what happened in his past life in order to get him to the way he is now.

willow was shocked when she saw the intoxicated boy take out a bottle of vodka. he opened the cap and chugged nearly half of the liquor down in less than thirty seconds. his fist punched the garbage can very hard, but the boy did not wince. next to the garbage cans were blankets that were covered in dirt, a pillow that was very small, a pair of shoes that were worn out, a deck of cards, and a small box which was most likely for money. the box was empty, the boy probably used the money he had to buy all the alcohol.

willow then realized that this intoxicated boy who captivated her eyes and surrounded her thoughts is homeless.

the boy took another sip of vodka then closed the lid. he got his pillow and blanket out and laid his head against the pillow, deciding to go to sleep.

willow stood next to her window for two more minutes, making sure he would be okay. she sighed and closed the window, forgetting about the humidity, and decided that she too, had to go to sleep.
