"What are you doing?" Spencer moved quickly from his spot on the couch, distancing from the girl next to him.

"What do you think I'm doing, genius? Trying to kiss you. Obviously," the girl stated matter of factly and smirking at the shocked expression on Spencer's face.

"Why? You know we can't. I - I can't," Spencer stuttered, standing from the couch when he saw the girl approaching again.

"You can't, but you want? It's the same thing for me," the girl shrugged.

"No. No. You don't understand. I told you I have a fiancee, right? I'm sure I did. You know her!" Spencer tried to reason, pacing in the room. He didn't want to make eye contact with her.

"Yeah. I know. But you're here. I'm here. And she's not," the girl pointed out. She kept on the sofa looking with amusing the wreck that was Spencer Reid at that moment.

"It doesn't mean that I..." Spencer trailed off.

"What? You don't want to kiss me? You don't feel attracted to me, Spencer?" The girl probed.

Spencer froze on the spot. He didn't think about that before. Did he? At least not in that way. He was attracted to that girl, but not in the way he would cheat on his girlfriend.

"I thought we were friends..." Spencer mumbled, racking his hands for his hair. The girl breathed a laugh.

"C'mon, Spencer. Do friends spend time as we do? I bet I saw you this week more times than you saw your girlfriend in the past month. Does she know you're here in the first place?" The girl smirked, knowing the answer. Spencer kept silent, thinking about the answer.

No. She didn't know because she was out of town. Two days ago (Y/N) told Spencer she needed to solve some family problems in her hometown and would take some days off. He didn't say anything. Why would he? Did he ask why kind of problems? No. He didn't. At that moment, he was texting his new friend about the last book she recommended to him.

"Are you clueless, right? Flashing news: she knows you have been cheating on her since we started to hang out more frequently," the girl announced, taking the glass of wine that rested on her coffee table and sipping.

"I didn't cheat on her! I never... we never..." Spencer huffed in frustration. Why was this hitting him now?

"You don't have to kiss me or have sex with me for that. Being in your mind more time than the time she does, I think is enough."

The last sentence broke for good Spencer's train of thought. Did he? Did he cheat on (Y/N)? No! Of course not. He loves (Y/N). So, why was he with her friend in her apartment and not with his fiancee helping her with her family problems?

The realization hit him hard. He fucked it up without knowing. Little does he know about the consequences of that. Little does he know about the storm that is about to crush his life.
