"Angela... please. This looks worse than I expected for it to be" My best friend complained to me as we were standing beside eachother, while the camp instructor was yelling peoples names off her clipboard.
"Oh, come on. This is gonna be more interesting than our usual summer holidays, trust me'' I grinned, as I was definitely more enthusiastic about this whole summer camp than Ellie. I was the one who persuaded her to come here in the first place, as summer holidays became dull for some reason a few years ago. It was fun having pool parties at my place, but it just gets boring to do the same thing over and over again every year.
After a second I heard my friend group giggling a bit at someones voice. I wasn't really concentrated on other people than my friends at that camp, but when I looked over to the person they were giggling at, I smiled a bit to myself, feeling like that summer camp was gonna be even better at this point by having some bonus entertainment. It was Melody and her bestfriend Olivia. They were just some emo girls with no personality at all.
"Maybe this will make you feel better'' I chuckled to Ellie as I saw them.
We waited for cabins to be chosen, which was the most tedious thing ever.. before mine was finally announced.
"Ellie Williams, Angela Sparks, Olivia Grey and Melody Rosaline are all in a cabin together.''
"Seriously...?'' I mumbled to myself, thinking why it couldnt have been people from my friendgroup who shared a cabin with me. I mean, its fun to have those weirdos around.. but come on, its gonna get boring at some point.

I sat at my bed with Ellie and we started to complain about things low quality that we have already seen.. for example these creaky wooden beds. It wasnt long until Ellie realized Melody was reading some book she brought on her bed.
"Look, shes reading one of her edgy novels again.''
"Aww, little Melody is reading her bed-time stories. How adorable..'' I laughed at Melody.
"Just leave me alone Angela, I'm sure theres better things you can do.'' She said before going back to her book.
"Pfftt.." Ellie next to me giggled, before Melody turned her back to us and probably went to sleep.
I was chatting with Ellie about her ex Ian, who seemed to be here too, until she got a bit tired and came back to her own bed. Not long after, I also drifted off into sleep.
