"You know, if you keep crying all the time, they'll never take you guys as demon slayers." (Y/n) teased, the two girls stared up at her as she moved closer to them.

"No, you're lying!" One of them quickly bit back.

     "Am I Hayami?" (Y/n) teased.

"How do you know?" Akira asked drying her tear stained face.

"They told me." (Y/n) said proudly. The girls wined calling her a liar, while (Y/n) tried convincing them she wasn't, and she was indeed telling them the truth.

Their mother smiled watching them from the kitchen as they went back to their playful state. She couldn't help but glance up at the sword that was displayed above them, it was mounted to the wall like a trophy. Feeling nothing but worry for her daughters.

Being a demon slayer wasn't the most preferred profession for anyone, it was for the strong and will hearted. Seeing the fire that emitted in her young daughters eyes, she knew they had the will power but she couldn't help but not wish for such a deadly future for them.

Having a father as a retired demon slayer didn't help burn out that fire either, only allow it grow. They admired him, saw him as their hero and for that they wanted to be just like him.

"I will be the greatest demon slayer that ever lived!" Hayami said as she raised her fist in the air.

"Ok ok let's settle down know dinner is ready." Their mother laughed.  Before even putting the bowl of hot rice on the table their father walked in taking off his shoes. Excitingly his daughters welcomed him home and so did his loving wife.

"Welcome home, Takeshi." She said sweetly.

"I'm glad to be home, Sumire." He said lovingly as he gave her gentle kiss on her forehead before greeting his daughter's.

The sun had set and the light in the (L/n) home began to slowly go out, Sumire was in her young daughters room biding her Goodnights with a story to help them sleep through the night.

As (Y/n) walked past their room she stopped hearing her mother's voice inside. She quietly put her ear against the thin doors listening to what story she was telling them.

She recognized it to be one of the story's Sumire told her when she was their age. Hearing the girls fone over it brought back lovely memories of her childhood, she remembered how it made her so excited to go to sleep because she got to hear her mother's stories that brought her that much joy as well.

Smiling to herself she went to walk away when her father caught a hold of her shoulder making her turn to face him.

She noticed one of his arms was behind his back. She gave him a questioning look before he began to speak.

"I brought you something from the city." He said handing her a small, beautifully decorated box, it was a light sky blue with a white ribbon that tied it securely closed.

"Oh thank you father but you didn't have to-"

"Go on open it up darling." He said with a innocent yet excited smile on his face. Obliging she carefully untied the ribbon opening it up.

"It's  beautiful." She said breathlessly, it was a silver necklace. It had a gorgeous sparkle to it as the moonlight reflected off it from the near by window. "Thank you so much father it truly is beautiful."

"Here, another peice for it." He said pulling out and even smaller black box. he opened it to show her a single diamond that went to the necklace.
