The kingdom of Kandra is well known for its forests. Giant pieces of land covered in giant trees and enchanting plants. When Kandra was first discovered, half of the settlers stayed with the new queen and began transforming the land to be better habitable for people. While the other half embraced the greenery and made that their home instead. This half created around the forest, instead of talking it away. And while this wasn't the direction the queen wanted for her group of people, she made a pact with the forest dwellers that would last to this very day. That the forest dwellers would be protected, and their claimed lands respected.

As the society outside the forests advanced and grew, so too did the society in the forests. Just in different ways.
The people in the forests dont use plastic, and they grow their minimal crops with no pesticides. And they hunt. Alot. The people in the forest became agile, quiet, and very efficient at taking down prey.
Alongside these traits, they began noticeably physically evolving. More "unnatural" eye colors began being seen, and with them came better eyesight, especially in the dark. Their teeth became more carnivorously built, given that their diets were more meat centric. And their hearing became much sharper.

Over time, the people in the man-made cities and towns began mingling with the people in the forest. Some stayed in the forest with their newfound friends and loves, while others showed their new close friends the world outside the forest. This intermingling created many "hybrids". Although, truly, they're all just human.
But, as time and evolution continued to go on, something strange happened in the forest..
One day, not very long ago at all.. a human with the features of a wolf was born. Her birth sent people into a frenzy. The people inside the forest had become much more animal-like in their time there, but this was such a huge jump! They couldn't quite wrap their heads around how it happened. But, more animal children began to be born. Foxes, rabbits, raccoons, and more! Still, nobody quite knew what to make of the situation. As best as anybody could figure.. it was simply the work of the forest's magic.
