Peter Parker has a heart of gold. That is a common fact. He cares and respects and loves, and he loves hard. He loves his aunt May, who stuck by him despite not having any blood relation to him, his uncle Ben, who died trying to make sure Peter was okay, and even his parents, who he barely remembers. 

And he loves his friends. He loves Ned and MJ, and would kill for them, and die for them. Ned, his Guy in the Chair, has always had his back and Peter never hesitates to return the favour, and MJ, his sort-of-girlfriend, who knows everything and yet never demands to be given answers personally. Who is also really scary and would probably kill for Peter, or just kill Peter. 

And then, Tony. He loves Tony infinitely. After losing two fathers, Peter gave up on the chance of ever getting another, but then Tony came into his apartment, making up some internship lie to get Peter to fight with him, and he met his hero. He met Tony Stark, his educational role model, and Iron Man, his favourite superhero. 

After the whole homecoming incident, Tony proved the whole never meet your heroes saying to be false, because Tony took up the role of a father to Peter easily. He didn't notice, but then Pepper started teasing him and making FRIDAY show footage of how cute Peter and Tony were. He started to notice how their relationship was that of a father and son.

Tony didn't mind. Neither did Peter. 

Peter loved it. Having a father figure again was the best feeling ever. He was afraid of losing his father again, for the third time, but hey, wasn't the third time a charm? That bond was endgame, and there'd be no end of them. fuck thanos irondad lives on forever 

"Hey, we're supposed to dress as someone who inspires us on Friday. I wanted to go as you and I was wondering if I could borrow-"

"You cannot wear an Iron Man suit to school."

"Actually, I wanted to borrow your sunglasses and maybe a tie-"

..

"Mr Stark, why are you crying? Is something wrong?" 

Peter had thought about the interaction all day. He only asked for sunglasses and a tie. He was going to ask for a suit, but he knew Mr Stark would overdo it and get personal tailors and the most expensive suit in the world, so he chose not to. 

But then he started crying. Why was he crying? Mr Stark never cried, at least not in front of people, especially not Peter. So what was wrong? 

For someone so smart, Peter was a little bit stupid. 

"Miss Potts?" 

"Yes, Peter?" Pepper turned around, putting her StarkPad down, ready to listen to whatever her surrogate son needed to say.

"Mr Stark- I er, made him cry."

Pepper seemed amused and shocked. "How did you do that?"

"Well, I was talking about how we're supposed to dress up as someone who inspires you in school and I wanted to go as him, and he told me I couldn't go as Iron Man, but then I told him I just wanted sunglasses and a tie and he started crying and told me to shoo."
