Relief

She fluttered her eyes open... just barely enough to see me.

She was so weak. It hurts to see her like this.

It hurts so damn much.

She gives me a weak smile.

"You didn't think I was gonna bail now did you" She whispers with a light chuckle.

I smile and chuckle as I shake my head.

"No way i'd leave now.... things are just getting started" She adds with a smile.

I lean down and kiss her.

As I pull away she smiles and gives my hand the smallest squeeze.

"I love you" She whispers.

"I love you more" I say back.

She falls asleep after a moment and I take a seat. I let myself relax and I close my eyes.

Before I know it I fall asleep too.

*Y/n's pov*

I wake up and look over to Jacob who is asleep in the chair.

My mom wasn't in the room so I figured she went to see the baby.

Shit.. Where is my baby??

I panic before calming myself and thinking.

I reach down and press the 'Call' button that alerts a nurse or doctor.

Shortly after a small blonde woman walks in and smiles.

"How can I help?" She asks.

"Where is my baby?" I ask as calmly as I can.

"He's in the nursery right now" She smiles.

"I'd like to see him" I smile back being as polite as I can.

She pauses.

"I'm sorry ma'am but I can't bring him until we know you are well enough" She says with an apologetic smile.

My smile fades.

"I'm perfectly fine I can assure you." I state.

"I got stitched up and a small amount of blood work done. I'm fine." I add.

She doesn't reply...

"I'm sure you're a lovely woman... But I will fuck you up if you don't bring me my goddamn baby. There is no way in hell that I just went through all that shit just to not be able to see him." I say sternly.

She flinched ever so slightly at my words.

"I'll have him brought to you shortly" She sighs with a smile.

She turns and walks out the room and I sit back.

About 10 minutes later they finally walk in with the baby cart thing and I see him all wrapped up.

I smile as they hand him to me.

I can't help but stare at his little face..

So peaceful.

The smile as they leave the room, leaving me with him.

He's so cute.

He's adorable.

I feel this incredible amount of love when I hold him.

I know people always say it's love at first sight with their kids but I didn't know it'd be like this.

I tear up a bit as I watch him.

I sit up and lay him down on the bed in between my legs. I unwrap the blanket around him and hold him close to my chest.

I place the blanket back over him so he doesn't get cold and I lay back.

He's now sleeping against my chest as I slowly rub his back with my thumb.

I smile lightly and think to myself..

Shit...

We need a baby name..
