After breakfast I had a free period and Mattheo did as well. I asked him if I could talk to him for a bit outside and ofcourse he said yes. So, we went outside to the lake where we sat down together. 'What did you want to talk about, Y/N?' He asked me immediately. I had to talk to him about last night. First of all, I needed to apologize for how drunk I was and I needed to know if he called me love or if I imagined that. I still felt embarrassed about it all, but I gues here goes nothing. 'Well... I... I wanted to apologize.' 'For what?' 'For being that drunk last night... I couldn't even walk properly...' 'You don't have to apologize for that.' 'Yes, I do, Mattheo. You carried me to my bed, because I couldn't walk anymore and I didn't even thank you for it, because I passed out before I could.' 'Truly, do not worry about it one bit, love.' 'Wait, what did you just call me?' He did it again. And this time, I'm not drunk. But, Mattheo kept quiet. 'You called me love.' 'I did.' 'And you did it last night as well. Right?' 'Yes, I did.' 'Why?' 'Because I can. But, I can stop if you want me to.' 'No... I kinda like it, to be honest.' I blushed a bit. 'Good, then I won't stop.' Mattheo smirked at me, which only made me blush more. 'I'm sorry.' I apologized for blushing. 'Don't apologize. It's kinda cute.' 'Okay, I'm going to go now, because this is getting embarrassing for me. Bye, Mattheo.' I stood up to walk away. 'Bye, love.' I looked back, blushing even more now, before walking back inside the castle.

This was the first time Mattheo and I flirted a bit with eachother, since the next couple weeks it only happened more. However, nothing ever happened between us. We just stayed good friends. Right now, Mattheo and I were in Potions class, sitting next to eachother. Mattheo was really listening to whatever Professor Snape was teaching us, but I couldn't help but be distracted by something on Mattheo's hand. Mattheo always wears rings. However, today he was wearing a new ring. One I hadn't seen before. It was a silver-coloured snake slithering aroung his pinky finger. I was staring at it while thinking about Mattheo. 'Like what you see?' 'Hmm?' I said getting pulled out of my thoughts. 'I asked, like what you see?' He said while moving his hand. 'Oh, uhhh... I noticed you had a new ring and it's interesting... I like it... uhh... but I shouldn't have been staring like that... sorry... that was weird...' 'I thought it was cute.' He said with a smirk and a wink at me, before returning his attention to the professor. I started blushing, but turned my head away before Mattheo could see. During the rest of the class, I was distracted by this little interaction, between Mattheo and me, but also by all the flirting that had happened over the past couple of weeks. Did this mean something? Were we more than friends at this point? We never talked about it or went on a date, so we must not be.

After Potions class, I spent some hours studying in the library, before meeting up with Draco, Blaise, Theo, Mattheo and Pansy for dinner. They were all already sitting at one of the tables, when I joined them. 'Hey, babe. Where were you?' Pansy said, when I sat down. 'I was studying in the library. I still had some assignments to finish.' 'Aha, that's why I couldn't find you. I didn't look there.' 'Ofcourse you didn't. I've never seen you walk into the library.' 'No, why would I, when I have my own library sitting next to me?' She said hinting at me. 'Exactly.' I said while bumping my shoulder against hers. Right as I was about to grab some food, Loki, my owl, came flying past and dropped something in my lap. 'What's that?' Pansy asked confused. 'I don't know.' I picked it up to see it was a note with something in it. I opened it and a ring fell out.  I quickly caught it and read what the note said.

You can have the ring. It'll look better on you anyways.

I just hope it won't be too big, otherwise I know a spell that can fix it for you.

'Ofcourse you do.' I whispered with a smile on my face. 'Is that a ring?' Pansy asked me once I twirled around the ring between my fingers. 'Yes, it is.' 'Do you know who it is from?' 'No, it doesn't say a name.' I lied. I knew exactly who the ring was from. It was Mattheo's. It was the new ring he was wearing earlier today and he gave it to me. I looked over at him. Mattheo quickly glanced at me, having noticed I got his package. I gave him a small smile and he gave me a smile back, before going back to his conversation with Theo. I looked back at the ring and tried it on. It fit perfectly on my middle finger and that's where it stayed for the rest of the evening.

When I woke up the next morning, I looked over at my nightstand and saw Mattheo's ring laying there. A smile immediately crept onto my face, when I remembered the note he gave me with it. I grabbed the ring and put it on again. I stared at the ring on my finger, until I realised that it was getting late and I needed to hurry up for breakfast. I quickly got dressed and ready, before making my way to the Great Hall. Somehow I was still one of the first of my friends to get there for breakfast, since only Mattheo was sitting there. 'You're here early?' I said questionably. Mattheo lately had been one of the last to arrive at breakfast and now he was the first. 'I had to do something.' 'Oh what did you have to do?' 'I had to get ready for some plans for you and me.' 'What do you mean? What plans do we have?' I had no idea what Mattheo was talking about. Did I forget we made plans? 'The plans I made up this morning. I'm picking you up after class.' 'What if I already have plans?' 'I asked Pansy and she said you didn't. So, do you?' 'No.' 'Well, now you do.' 'Okay.' I started blushing a bit. I can't wait to find out what Mattheo has planned for us. 'I was right by the way.' Mattheo said after we had stayed quiet for a minute. 'What do you mean?' 'The ring does look better on you.' He said before turning his head and saying good morning to Theo and Pansy who had just arrived at the Great Hall. I turned my head to Mattheo, while blushing even harder.
