"Haven't you ever been in love before?" He asked while staring deep into my eyes. My hand stopped half way from my mouth.
"Huh?" I said, shocked from his sudden question. Where did he get it from? I have no clue.
"Have you ever been in love?" he rephrase his question.
Hindi ko siya sinagot agad at dahan-dahan kong ibinababa ang kamay ko. Kailan pa nag karoon ng ganitong question ang buhay ko? 'Di ba dapat tahimik ako kumakain? So.. Paano nangyari 'to?
I swiftly fixed myself. "Ahem! What's with the sudden question?" I cleared my throat to show him how uncomfortable it is to be asked that. Alam ko sanay siya sa ganyan pero ibahin sana niya ako.
Isa pa.. nakikikain lang siya.. Bakit kailangan niyang sirain ang oras ko? Make it make sense please.
"Well, base on my observation, you are the only girl in this school who is not interested on being under the spotlight," he paused. His eyes shifted from left to right and back to me again. "You've never been the topic nor do people seem to know who you are."
Wow.. talk about being slap across the face for not being popular.
"Look I get what you are trying to say, pero no thank you na lang kung ano man ang gusto mong gawin," nagsimula na akong ayusin ang pagkainan ko para lumipat sa ibang lugar. Preferrable somewhere far from him. "I love the way my life is now. I may not be popular, but at least I know who my real friends are. Hindi ko kailangan ng mga plastic sa buhay ko."
"I hope you don't take what I am saying-"
"I won't," I cut him off. Tumayo ako sa pag upo ko habang dala-dala ang baonan ko. His eyes began to watch my movement again.
"Where are you going?"
Bumuntong hininga ako. "Please don't ruin my peaceful life just to prove to everyone you can get any girl you want. Dahil alam ko kaya mong gawin 'yun," partially I smiled at him. "Just don't do it with me," I said before leaving him.
