You woke up, not quite knowing where you were at first. Your head was throbbing which made you hiss in pain. With a grunt, you slowly stood up, taking in your surroundings. You soon learned that you were in an empty and dark alley. You could hear people at the entrance of the alley. As you were walking towards there, your eyes landed on a puddle. You crouched down and looked at yourself, tracing your face with your fingers.

You had [Eye Color ; E/C] eyes, [Hair Color ; H/C] hair, [Other Details ; O/D]. A rat suddenly walked across the puddle, which frightened you.

"Eek!" You shrieked. You landed on your bum as the rat scooted off. "Darn rodent!" You exclaimed under your breath, standing up while brushing dust off yourself.

You walked out of the alley and was greeted by a busy marketplace. There were space creatures of all kinds; hybrids and others. There were few of your kind that you could see talking to each other and purchasing things from the different stalls.

Your stomach grumbled at the smell of bread. Pity, you haven't any money.

Your thoughts landed on the question, why did you wake up in an alley? And do you have any parents? And one important question, where do you live?

This made you confused. You were sure you were from around here. You shrugged and decided to explore the place, hoping that you would get your memory back.

***

To your disappointment, you could only remember things any seventeen - year - old would remember from schooling and your name... Well, your first name. You sighed in frustration and stopped walking. You looked up in the sky and noticed that there would be a storm soon.

"Urgh. Why me?" You complained. You stared into the distance and saw a cabin from afar. There was a sign on front of you with the words imprinted, 'Benbow Inn'.

You were about to walk towards the cabin when you heard a thud from behind you, followed by a sound of frustration. You stirred and found yourself face to face with an angry space creature. He seemed to be a hybrid of dog and human. He wore small spectacles and his clothes were covered by a crimson coat, probably protection from the rain. You weren't exactly prepared. You wore camo pants, black boots and a plain white T-shirt that was a little tight and inserted underneath your pants.

You realized he dropped his books. You crouched down and grabbed the two books nearest to you. He stood up with two books in his hands. He looked around and you cleared your throat to get his attention. He faced you and smiled.

"Ah! Thank you, young lady." You gave him his two books and he gladly accepted it.

"Say... I haven't seen you around here before. Where are you from, young lady?" He adjusted his glasses and looked you from head to toe. You looked down and awkwardly fiddled with your fingers.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you, mister-"

"Doppler." The man interrupted you.

" Er... What?" He grabbed your hand and shook it. You gave a questioning look but chuckled at the man's action.

"Doctor Delbert Doppler. Tell me," he let go of your hand when you heard lightning. Delbert sighed and opened an umbrella that he took out of his coat and placed it over you and him.

"I'm going to the Bembow Inn. Would you like to join me, miss?"

"Er... (Y/N). And uh, sure." The both of you started walking towards the inn. Halfway towards the inn, Delbert asked,

"Tell me, (Y/N) why wouldn't I believe you?" You shrugged.

"You'll think I'm crazy, doctor." He scoffed.

"Hmph. Try me."

You sighed and said, "I woke up in an alley in the marketplace, only knowing my first name with no money and no memory of my existence whatsoever." He stopped walking and looked at you, confused.

"Interesting. No memory at all? Not even where you live?"

You shook your head and smiled sheepishly. "Well, I'll treat you for lunch. Maybe you could stay in my humble home. Or even with Sarah."

"Sarah?" You repeated.

"Oh! She's an old friend of mine, and she's the owner of this place. They cook the best food and she'll need your help with working. You could get some money."

You sighed in relief.

"I guess. Thank you so much, doctor."

Delbert opened the door and you saw many people sitting on different tables. You got inside and Delbert closed the door.

"Oh, it's my pleasure, (Y/N). And call me Delbert."

You sat on a table and Delbert sat on the other side. A woman with brown hair and pretty blue eyes walked towards your table.

"Hello Delbert! And who's your friend here?"

"Sarah, this is (Y/N) and (Y/N), this is Sarah Hawkins. The owner of the Benbow inn. Sarah, I have much to tell you about this girl."

"Er... Hi Miss Hawkins."

"Oh, call me Sarah. I'll talk later, I've been busy all morning. What would you two like?" She handed out two menus and there were tons of delicious choices. Somehow your instincts told you to choose Chicken Drumsticks So, you did.

"I'll have the Chicken Drumsticks, please." You smiled at Sarah as she scribbled it down on her notepad. You looked out the window and smiled at yourself.

'At least I could start over.' You thought.
