Once he got out what he needed, MA set up the crib and took Eclipse from Cherry's arms, the motion of it waking him up just long enough to realize what was going on and to respond with a big hug. MA was taken aback by the hug, it ultimately led him to tear up slightly and hug back.
"I love you too, buddy," he whispered, "I promise to give you the childhood you deserve, and I promise to never ever abandon you again."
"Thank you," Eclipse whispered back, "thank you for giving me another chance."
MA chuckled ruefully and just hugged him harder, they stayed that way for a minute until the militant set the tired child into the crib and hummed him to sleep.
"Thank you guys," he eventually said to the others as he wiped his eyes, "thank you for everything."
C:
-"No need to thank us, that's just what friends are for; we have each other's back and help out when assistance is needed."Hatter spoke softly and rubbed MA's back. "Seeing you and the others happy makes me glad."
-"T'was a pleasure to serve you, Sir!" Chandy piped, tipping his little hat.
Cherry took a moment to peer at Eclipse's small sleeping figure in the crib, she found it adorable. It reminded the teen of her own little siblings and that she was returning home very soon.
-"Доброй ночи mister MA." Murmured Cherry, side-hugging the militant entity. "Вам тоже спасибо за всё."
Hatter smiled fondly at the teenager.
-"Time to get you back to bed, baby." He chuckled and passed a hand through Cherry's hair, which looked more like a fluffed-out lion's mane.
-"I'm not a baby ..."The human child groaned a bit at the pet name, but relented and took hold of Hatter's hand.
-"Have a good night MA, I'll be around if you need me, just call and I'll be there." Hatter said warmly to the winged entity.
M:
"Good night guys, see you tomorrow," he said, waving as they left. The militant watched his younger self sleep for a little while longer to make sure he would be ok, then got ready for bed himself and drifted off to sleep.
The next morning started off not so early for most of the residents of the estate, everyone was so wiped out from the fun yesterday that they mostly just wanted to stay in bed. Except for one, Poldara had been up for a while since he had another nightmare, he was just watching tv in the living room waiting for everyone else to wake up, his snow leopard was sprawled out on his lap while Akita was pouting on the floor.
C:
Cherry jumped down from the windowsill. Outside the clouds were covering most of the sky and a crow screeched somewhere in the distance.
She woke up early—although not at an ungodly hour like Hatter told last night.
Her backpack was already loaded, she only needed to take a quick shower, dress up, pass the comb through her fluffy aureole of pink-ish red hair, and skitter downstairs.
She quietly got into the living room, carrying a sleepy Frankie in her arms.
-"Доброе утро братик,"(Good morning bro) The teen greeted Poldara, "How are you feeling?"
———
A sparrow chirped and nestled down on the roof, the texture was unusually soft.
Nope, never mind.
That's Hatter's hair—but honestly, it looked more like a bird's nest at that very moment.
The man had pulled an all-nighter to gaze at the stars and to meditate. The sun rose high in the sky without him noticing.
-"Good golly, I'm going to be late!" Hatter's eyes flung open in a startle. Snapping out of his daze, he stood up and frantically looked around.
In his rush, he nearly toppled backward, but regained balance and made his descent.
Normally he would have acted as a civilized, rational, law-abiding citizen; yet it was his last day and he had fifteen minutes of real sleep. And so he slid down the roof and got inside the house through a window.
Hatter found himself sitting on a counter inside the kitchen, where he put the water to boil before heading off to the dorms to get washed.
Once he returned—looking fresh this time, the angelic entity began cooking breakfast. Buttered toasts, crepes, omelets, and whatnot. The scent of infused coffee floated in the air.
M:
Poldara turned to Cherry and smiled, "Morning Cherr, I'm doing good, I had a nightmare earlier but it's fine now."
He glanced at Frankie in Cherry's arms and chuckled, "I wonder how your folks are going to react to a flaming platypus when you go home, you know, in the off chance that Hatts is going to let you keep it."
C:
Cherry frowned a little at the mention of nightmares but paid no mind to the change of subject.
-"Hatty said we should probably set Frankie back into the wilderness, but if I end up keeping him, he's gotta stay in our house in the Void. Nobody in my family knows I'm space traveling to other dimensions, if they did I probably wouldn't be allowed to go anywhere ..." The teen explained, scratching the platypus' belly.
"But they're too busy to care anyway, mama works all the time and my siblings have their own stuff to deal with."
-"They DO care Sakura," Hatter's voice countered, "We've talked about this. Your family loves you and they certainly miss you a lot. Life is hard even without magic."
Hatter popped into the living room. His hair was brushed and tied into a ponytail and he had an apron over a black long-sleeved shirt and pants of the same color.
-"Good morning to both of you, are you hungry? I made some breakfast." He said in a cheerful tone.
The smell of coffee made Cherry's pupils grow twice in size and she turned her head in the direction of the doorway.
-"You should have told me you were cooking, I would have helped!" Cherry made a pouting face. "Why can't I ever help around?"
The angelic entity shrugged and patted her head.
-"Come eat while it's still warm ... and while it's still there. I cannot guarantee the mountain of crepes will remain there for long." Hatter chuckled.
