You and Sam had been friends for a long time, ever since you met in high school. You spent countless hours together, studying. But even though you'd been friends for so long, something had been gnawing at the back of your mind for years - you had feelings for Sam that went beyond friendship.
Years flew by, and both of your respective college degrees were in your hands. You both had slowly started drifting apart due to your busy schedules as adults. But things changed when you moved to Cincinnati, and Sam just happened to be playing for the Bengals.
That night, you decided to drop by the team's after-party to say hello to Sam. You were all dressed up and were looking forward to a fun night out with your old friend. As you walked in, Sam spotted you and grinned from ear to ear. You hugged for a few minutes, and when you pulled away, you could see the affection in his eyes.
The team's party was going full swing, with everyone there having a great time. You enjoyed being around everyone and were having a good time catching up with Sam, but you couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that you still wanted more. You had always wanted to be more than friends with Sam but had never found the courage to say anything.
But tonight, things were different. You were tired of holding back your feelings, and you decided that it was finally time to let him know. You pulled Sam aside from the rest of the party and looked deep into his eyes.
"Sam, I know we've always been friends, but I've been feeling something more for you. Something deeper. I want us to be more than friends."
Sam looked at you for a moment, taking in your words. And then he smiled.
"Y/N, I'm so happy you said that. I've been feeling the same way for a long time now. I love you."
You both leaned in and shared a deep kiss that made your heart sing. You could finally let go of all your apprehensions and doubts. From that moment on, you and Sam were inseparable.
That night, under the starry Cincinnati skyline, you knew that Sam was the one you had been waiting for all your life. You had finally found your happily ever after.
