Chapter 26: Vienna

You get out of the jet and make your way over to the doors of the church, you hear Nat trying to convince Steve to sign the accords again, you enter the church to make sure everything is okay, and you see Nat hugging Steve, they turn to face you at the sound, and Steve looks like he needed the hug,

"Hey kid" Steve smiles as you make your way over to him,

"Hey Cap, sorry to hear about Peggy" you say as you give him a hug,

"Thank you, she was..." he couldn't finish his sentence, and you put your hand on his forearm, and gave him a squeeze to let him know he didn't need to say anything.

You and Nat set off for Vienna to sign the accords. You have a night before heading to the meeting, so you and Nat make your way over to the hotel.

"Hi, we have a booking for one night" she says as she makes her way up to the desk,

"What is the name?" he asks,

"Romanoff" she says, you see him start to scrunch his eyebrows together as he looks at the screen,

"Sorry, we don't have a booking under Romanoff"

"Try Y/l/n" she responds,

"Nothing for Y/l/n for tonight for one night..."

"Sorry, I didn't make the booking" she said turning to you, asking you to phone Tony, when she says it, she rolls her eyes,

"Can you check for Natalie Rushman..."

"Ah yes, Natalie Rushman for one night in our honeymoon suite" he smiles at you both, saying congratulations, you let out a small laugh as Nat's face goes r/ed, he turns around to get the key,

"Looks like Tony only booked one room, do you mind sharing?"

"Wouldn't be the first time we've shared a bed" you smile back, just then the man gives Nat the room key, he asks the bell boy to bring us to our room and help with our bags, Nat wouldn't give him hers but you do, he smiles at you before leading you upstairs.

When you get to the room Nat is straight to business, going over the plan for tomorrow,

"Woah, can we relax for a bit? I haven't even put my bag down yet" you laugh, turning to her, she tells you that this is serious, and makes her way over to the sitting area of your room, you put your bag down and follow her, you sit next to her,

"You get how serious this is... right?" she says to you, you think about what happened in your home country, how you lost control and almost killed innocent people,

"Yes I get it"

"Good" Nat tells you the plan, and makes you memorise every country and leader that is going to the be there,

"Y/n there are 117 countries that are going to be at the signing, and every single nation is going to want face time with us both, they need to know that we are buying into the accords" she says, you think she realised that you were losing focus,

"Okay, we can take a break for a bit" she said, she followed up that she was going for a nap,

"Okay, I haven't been to Vienna before, so I'm going to explore" you informed her, making your way over to the door, Nat quickly closes the door before you can fully open it,

"Sorry you aren't allowed to leave"

"Excuse me? Allowed?" you say shocked, emphasising the 'allowed',

"That was the wrong choice of words, but you don't know who is out there. This meeting is happening tomorrow. I won't let anything go wrong" she replied,
