(Kaveh POV.)
It'd been around 2 years of living with Alhaitham. I don't know when I started to feel this unapproaching feeling, but I can't help it. Yes, we're friends, but would it hurt to want more?
"Kaveh, could you do the bed?" Alhaitham requested, walking out of the room with his usual messy bed hair.
I dozed off a bit, until the door behind me suddenly clicked. I turned behind me quickly. "Oh, you're awake? Yeah, I'll go do it in a bit." I assured, perking up as I saw him.
Kaveh watched as Alhaitham went to the breakfast to get something to eat, standing up from the table and walking towards the bedroom, scruffling his hair in frustration as his smile faded.
Fuck, fuck, fuck! What am I thinking?! Asking Alhaitham out?! Are you crazy??!!..
After a few minutes Kaveh had come out of the room, finished with what he had been asked to do. He came to see Alhaitham sitting in the chair on the table across from Kaveh's, a plate of food already placed in his spot. He smiled.
"Oho, what did you make?" Kaveh sassed, smiling as he took a seat. "Just some toast and eggs, I thought I'd be nice enough to make you food." Alhaitham replied, his eyes narrowing over to Kaveh as his eyes softened at his cheeky grin.
"Haha, well, thank you." Said Kaveh, as he picked up the fork laid nicely on a tissue. Though, he didn't eat. His cheek on his hand as he watched Alhaitham, who was looking out the window by the side, enjoying the scenery. Kaveh got lost in thought, eventually zoning out as he admired Haitham.
"Are you going to eat? If you don't want it I'll eat it for you." Alhaitham disturbed, looking at him with a concerned look. "Ah-.. No, no- I'll eat it. Sorry." Kaveh chuckled nervously, snapping back into place and sitting up straight.
You're so stupid, zoning out while looking at him?! You must be going crazy. He probably thinks your weird now.. No-.. No he'd never think like that, right..? But.. H-
"Kaveh." Alhaitham announced sternly, his eyes focused on him as he watched Kaveh stutter, trying to recollect himseld back up.
"Oh-.. Ah.. Y-yeah?" I responded nervously.. He startled me, am I in trouble..?
"Is something troubling you? You barely ate and you look like you haven't been sleeping well. Are you stressed?" Alhaitham sighed, giving him a worried look.
He's worried.. About me?
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just got some bad sleep." I smiled, avoiding eye contact with him
"No, Kaveh you're not, and you know that. Don't lie to me. What's going on in your mind?" Alhaitham sounded worried , it almost made me just want to burst into tears.
"N-no really, I'm fine!" I assured him, giving a bright smile. "I just lost my apetite, I'm sorry. I'll eat it later, save it for me?" I smiled, standing up from the table.
"Kave-..." Alhaitham reached out.. No please, don't call for me anymore.
I got out of the table, walking back towards my room with a heavy sigh. I felt tears form, but I managed to kept them in until I went inside my room. Closing the door behind me and sitting with my back to the door, letting a tear roll down my cheek silently.
(Alhaitham POV.)
Did I do something wrong? Maybe he just needs time, I'll leave him alone.
Alhaitham cleaned up the table, looking at Kavehs unfinished food. He wrapped it up and put it on the counter. He sighed, going back to his own room himself.
(After a couple hours.)
I haven't heard Kavehs door open, is he doing alright?
Alhaitham stood up from his bed and out his book down on the desk, leaving his room as he turned to Kavehs door. All the decorations popping out unlike Alhaithams blunt room. He stepped closer, knocking twice. "Kaveh, are you there?"
No response.
"I'm coming in." Alhaitham opened the door quietly, looking around until he spotted Kaveh. He was at his work desk, sleeping.
Oh, maybe he was right. I stepped towards him, getting on my knees as I looked at his face. I brushed the hair out of his face, looking at his pretty sleeping face. He looks so peaceful. But, I realized something. His eyes were puffy and looked red and so did his nose, almost like he had been crying.
I stood him, sighing. "Kaveh.." I tried, shaking his shoulder gently.
(Kaveh POV.)
"Mmmph." I mumbled, slowly opening my eyes. I looked up, seeing Alhaitham. "Oh.. What are you doing here..?" I rubbed my eyes, sitting up.
"You were being more quiet than usual. Thought it was strange."
I stood up from the chair, sighing as I went to my bed.
"Kaveh, are you having troubles sleeping?" Alhaitham asked me, but that wasn't the actual problem, is it? I can't go to sleep properly knowing the person I've been developing.. I think, feelings for is sleeping in the room just next to mine.
"...I guess." I mumbled, sitting down on my bed.
"Do you want to sleep in my room?"
....What.. Sleep-.. In Alhaitham's room..?! But-.. Why am I freaking out, isn't this what I would've wanted..?
"You're okay with that..?" Kaveh stuttered, his face turning red as his eyes widened.
"Well, why do you think I asked you? If you're uncomfortable with it, you don't have to. But just let me know, I always have space for another on my bed." Alhaitham said, before turning around to leave Kaveh's room.
I stood up quickly, grabbing Alhaitham's wrist as he turned back to me quickly.
"I'll take the offer.. If that's okay with you."
Alhaitham slithered his hand to mine, holding it in his warm palm gently. I blushed, covering my mouth with my free hand as he quietly led me to his room. It was already around 22:00.. Which is later than we usually would go to sleep. He held me gently as he closed his door behind us.
"I know my room is pretty boring, but my bed is comfortable. Go to sleep first, I'll take a shower." Alhaitham suggested, walking towards the bathroom.
Well, I'm in his room now.. Do I just-..
I sat on his bed patiently, hearing as the shower next door turned on. I laid down on one side. He really wasn't lying. This is very.. comfortable.
(Few minutes later, Alhaitham POV.)
Alhaitham let out a soft sigh as he stepped out of the bathroom, ruffling his wet hair with a towel as the steam from the shower flowed into the room. He looked up, seeing Kaveh, sleeping on his bed.
He's asleep already. Guess I better not be too loud..
Alhaitham slid into the other side of the bed, facing Kaveh. He watched silently until he turned off the lamp that was the light source in the room, closing his own eyes slowly.
"Goodnight.. Kaveh."
