"What do you mean 'tired'? You're not supposed to feel tired." Gemma stated apprehensively. M3GAN was quick to give a reply.

"𝙸 𝚖𝚎𝚊𝚗𝚝 𝚕𝚘𝚠 𝚘𝚗 𝚋𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚢. 𝙸 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚜𝚊𝚒𝚍 '𝚝𝚒𝚛𝚎𝚍' 𝚊𝚜 𝚊 𝚠𝚊𝚢 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝙲𝚊𝚍𝚢 𝚝𝚘 𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚒𝚎𝚛."

Both Gemma and I stilled at the confusing answer.

"What? Why would you be low on battery? Is something wrong with the charger?" Gemma asked a bit uneased. Her tone wasn't calm and a tad bit higher pitched. I on the other hand just stared at M3GAN while I had the opportunity since she wasn't staring at me for once.

"𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚐𝚎𝚛 𝚒𝚜 𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚎. 𝙸 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚌𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍𝚗'𝚝 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚐𝚎 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝚋𝚎𝚌𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚊 𝚔𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚗." M3GAN said nonchalantly while slowly turning to the window in the living room as if reminiscing. While she looked away me and Gemma gave each other a look. Gemma's was more of a 'What...?' while mine was more along the lines of:

The fuck she saying?

"A cat? Was it hurt?" Cady asked timidly. Probably worried about the cat's health.

"𝙽𝚘, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚒𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚝. 𝙰𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚝 𝚌𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚍 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚒𝚝𝚜 𝚖𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛. 𝚂𝚘, 𝙸 𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚍 𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚙𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚝 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚗𝚘 𝚊𝚟𝚊𝚒𝚕, 𝚜𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚗𝚘𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎 𝚏𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍. 𝚂𝚘, 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚎𝚗𝚍, 𝙸 𝚕𝚎𝚏𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚔𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚗 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝙸 𝚏𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚝. 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝙸 𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚘 𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚝, 𝚒𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚗𝚘 𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎. 𝙸 𝚠𝚘𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚗𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚘 𝚒𝚝." She explained calmly. Cady's expression worsened at the idea of the small kitten out there by itself with no mother beside it. Potentially reminding it of herself.

"I hope it's okay..." Cady murmured quietly while looking at her lap with a pained expression.

"What did it look like? Maybe if I see it sometime, I can help it!" Cady quickly reverted back to her normal self thanks to her optimism. Her eagerness reached her eyes by the way the light seemed to come back to her close-to-tear-stricken eyes.

On the other hand, M3GAN observed her primary user's being. Her blue eyes focused on the brown ones that belonged to Cady. Those very same eyes for a moment flickered to me but it was so quick I could have imagined it. With how much my eyes dart to hers it could be completely possible. Here small – formed lips seemed to stretch endlessly as if she thought of something amusing or mischievous. Her dead eyes held a glint as the words left her mouth. Her posture dipped forward as she leaned towards Cady as if to tell her a forbidden secret.

"𝙰 𝚜𝚖𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚜𝚗𝚘𝚠-𝚠𝚑𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚔𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚗 𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚛𝚎𝚍𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝚎𝚢𝚎𝚜." She whispered and said it for all to hear. Her sharp words cut through the air. Something in my chest suddenly tightened. A sudden pressure appeared and blocked the airway down my throat. I could feel a weight down my shoulders which I could not apprehend. As far as I knew she could be truly speaking about a feline and not in riddles. Yet the former notion seemed to be failing my convictions as each millisecond passed. The reason why I found this concerning was because of multiple things.
