˜"*°•.˜"*°• Chapter 2- the mall •°*"˜.•°*"˜

Start from the beginning

"Here we go again..." Kaite sighed, the camera soon turned to static and then an alarm went off, the sound of an ear piercing siren accompanying it. They both covered their ears as Yasu went to fix it. Kaite continued to watch the cameras, she had a sensation that the intruder was there because of her, but she brushed it off for the time being.

Kaite soon heard something while watching over the cameras, something that could only be described as mixed up voices that sounded horrifying, she was too flabbergasted to understand what it was saying. The only word she was able to distinguish was 'Here' but everything else was too scrambled to understand.

"Uh Yasu, you gotta take a look at this." Kaite said not taking her eyes away from the camera just in case the intruder were to move somewhere else. Yasu proceeds to walk over and look at the camera.

"I swear everywhere I go I see him... It's almost like he is stalking me." Yasu groaned, he didn't really look at the camera footage but Kaite could tell something was off about her friend. Kaite moved away from the computer and went somewhere else in the room. Suddenly the lights turned off.

"Every time..." Kaite mumbled, this has to be what? The second time this happened was when this guy was around.

"shit- the fuse must've blown, this doesn't happen much..." Kaite heard Yasu say as she heard his chair move. This was way darker then her house and way more horrifying due to the fact that she heard something down the hall. The lights soon turned on relieving her of her worries. Kaite breathed a sigh of relief, then she noticed that there were a pair of eyes down the hallway, this re-spiked her panic as she quickly told her friend of them. They quickly moved to a some lockers that were in the room and hid inside of them.

The intruder came in shortly after, they both could see him more clearly then they did when they were in the house, though they couldn't exactly map out his details due to them being in a locker. Kaite tried her best to control her breathing as the strange person walked by, he was tall, and wore a ski-mask; typical things burglars had. Though the strange thing was that the eyes on the ski-mask were unusually big. Once the man saw that they weren't there they went out of the lockers.

"This is gonna be a great night..." Kaite murmured sarcastically, moving back to the camera,

"You could say that again-" Yasu agreed as another alarm went off inside the room, "God damn it" he groaned as he slowly moved to deactivate the alarm. "Kaite, could you call the police while I fix the alarm?" Yasu asked as he made his way to the bright red button. She took the chance to see if the person she invited over was not the same person that broke into the mall.

Turns out those were the same people, Kaite's heart sank the moment she figured this out... All the clues were right there, he sent a picture of the mall they were at and Kaite saw the same exact ski-make with those goofy googly eyes. Kaite went back to the cameras to see where he was, turns out the man got hungry and went to steal some of the food from the food court. Kaite could see part of his face due to the fact he took the mask off. When she saw who it was she almost burst out laughing.

The intruder was her old neighbor Tristan, the same Tristan she went to daycare with and who had always had glue and glitter on his face. Tristan who would cry whenever Kaite was around his brother, the person who always seemed to have a big ol' crush on Kaite's best friend. He was here and Kaite had accidentally invited him over. After a moment to recollect herself she called the police. Luckily for them they were closer than she thought, but not close enough, they would have to wait till seven for them to actually come. How inconvenient...

Kaite continued to watch the cams as she didn't have much to do, though she did have some things on her mind. Kaite had to forget all about those thoughts though because at the moment she had to focus on surviving. After a while, Yasu finally fixed the alarm, by then it was nearly 4.

"What took you so long?" Kaite asked

"I haven't had to fix those things in ages, you could say I'm a bit rusty." Yasu responded, rolling his eyes. "So where's our... guest..." He asked with an agitated tone.

"He's in the food court- though there is something I wanna tell you." Kaite said thinking about if she wanted to tell the identity of the intruder or not, if she did she could ruin the chances of her getting some serious cash.

"Go ahead, the floor is all yours." Yasu responded waiting for the question,

"The police should be here at 7, I just wanted to let you know." Kaite decided against telling him about the true identity of the intruder, she couldn't ruin her chances, no, not yet.

"Oh god, that's what? 3 whole hours away?" Yasu complained, Kaite shrugged and went back to watching the camera. She noticed that the intruder left the mall so she pulled out her phone and continued to write the story that she had been writing and working on for months. Yasu soon noticed that the intruder left the mall so he went on his phone to speed up the time. They spent the rest of their time playing on their phones and such. Though Yasu should probably do his job, it was a long and boring night so why not? The rest of the night was uneventful, beside the usual alarm going off here and there. The police finally showed up... they took Yasu in for questioning and soon Kaite was questioned too. They were not able to find the criminal, though Kaite knew who it was.
