Clara is Homer's second wife. See after Homer and Marge's trial separation, Marge actually filed for divorce and went through with it. After she got full custody of the kids in the trial and a better house, Homer eventually dated and married Clara. Clara is a woman who doesn't care if he eats in front of the tv or spends all his time at Moe's. She's basically his definition of a perfect woman
