Why is Toya acting strange?

Akito's POV:

As usual me and Toya meet up at the main road at 7:20 am. However, today Toya is a bit late which is unlike him. After 5 mins though, he shows up, talking while catching his breath,"Sorry Akito! I overslept a bit!" "Nah it's fine." Then we entered a comfortable silence with occational chatting when I saw his walking gesture is a bit weird. I ask him,"Oi Toya, are you okay? You looked weird when walking." I saw him stiff up a bit but quickly puts on the calm facade of his,"I'm fine Akito, thanks for worrying though." I decide to let it slip this time as I trust Toya will tell me when he is ready. School passes slowly, each lesson is like an eternity, then lunchtime with toya as usual, then lessons again. Finally, the school bell rang. I rushed to Toya's classroom. "Hi Toya! Let's walk home together today!" I saw a bit of hesitance on his face. To my surprise, he refused. "Sorry Akito, I need to go back home as soon as possible today." "I have something to tell you, it will be quick." "Okay, what is it?" "I-" Oh shit, I am too nervous I can't speak properly! "Akito? Are you alright?" AND I also make Toya worried. "Ah it's nothing-" "Then I will leave now. Goodbye Akito, I will see you tomorrow..." He smiled at me sadly and walked away. It is really unsual to see him in this state, but before I can ask, he already disappeared, leaving me wondering what happened before.
