Background:
Well it's obvious that Shou isn't related to the Kurigari's at all but that doesn't excuse the fact that he's been really close to them since the three of them were born. He wasn't raised like the others in the group actually he was doing well considering how poor his family was. Shou was talented both at listening and finding his passion. He had a knack for manipulation when it was needed and later in his life it would become incredibly useful. Really he was gonna avoid the gang entirely but when his mother died due to an accident and he found out it was one of the other sides that caused it he was infuriated. He bargained with Nariko asking for a trade, he would help her till hell froze over if she would bump off his mom's killer which he had very quickly figured out. Mind you at the time the pair was only 16, but in this world...in their world in the slums that's how these things worked. From them on he never broke his promise and well that's how he ended up as a viper, all because of a simple or well what was a simple favor to him then. A life for a life.

Background:
You could say Katana and her younger sister have been through a lot not to mention being pinned on opposite sides and while they live each other there's a sense of sibling rivalry and just a tiny bit of hate. The two girls were separated by a divorce and then left to be on opposing sides despite both of them being cousins from Nariko's mothers side. Katana is the older sibling but only by a year. While she may be apart of a gan she has dedicated her life to helping people especially females and children that end up as a part of human trafficking. Actually a lot of Nariko's hits when she started off were leaders of trafficking rings. Anyways that aside she ended up apart of the Vipers purely because it's how she was raised, her mom is Nariko's aunt and son the two in away became sisters. However the reason the two sisters aren't getting along is because Kisara cannot forgive Katana for willing walking away with her mom after the divorce and leaving her younger sister with their good for nothing father maker her life less than easy but that's not to say that Katana didn't have her own problems.
