You walk through VAST FOREST. It's pretty nice here, lots of flowers and a nice smell... WAIT. Is that the distinct smell of chocolate chip cookies? You sniff a bit... yes! It IS! You run around trying to find the source, and find the playground. It looks like the smell is coming from a picnic. There's a girl over there though... you feel like she wouldn't appreciate you taking any without asking. You walk up to her.
"Hey, did you bake these cookies? They smell delicious!" You talk to the girl. "Huh? Oh! Yeah, I did bake them. You want any? I've got plenty to share!" She smiles at you. It's a sweet smile. Like, if smiles had smells, hers would smell like her cookies... WAIT YOU'RE GETTING OFF TRACK. "Uhh... yeah!" The girl gives you one of the cookies. "You can sit here to eat it. I'm MARI, by the way. What's your name?"
"(Y/N)," you say. "It's a pleasure to meet you, MARI!" You sit and begin to eat the cookie... it tastes as delicious as it smells! "That's a nice name. So, do you like the cookies?" MARI asks you. "Yeah!" She smiles at you again. "So, VAST FOREST looks nice today, huh?" You try to make small talk with MARI as you eat. "Yeah! My friend BASIL has been trying to plant flowers all around the forest. He has a garden, actually, but he often plants flowers outside of it." MARI seems happy to talk about that, luckily. "How do you make these cookies? They're so good..." MARI gives you a slight smug grin. "Hehe. Baker's secret!"
You both talk for a while, even after you finish the cookie. MARI talks about her brother and friends, and you just kind of talk about whatever comes to mind. "Do you have any pets?" you ask MARI. "Yeah! A cat named MEWO. Although she mostly stays with OMORI." "Huh.." You talk about pets and animals for a while.

As you're talking to MARI, you see a few kids approaching. One of them is black and white, so they're probably MARI's friends. The girl with the bow runs over to the picnic blanket. "Hi, MARI! Who's that? Where's BASIL?" "Oh, hello AUBREY!" MARI smiles at the bow girl... AUBREY, you think you heard? "This is (Y/N). And I don't know where BASIL is... probably watering his flowers! Thye take a lot of care, after all!" The others walk (or run) over to the picnic blanket. "(Y/N), these are AUBREY, KEL, HERO and my brother OMORI." MARI points to each of her friends as she says their name.
"Hey, guys! I got an idea!" AUBREY says excitedly. "We should all go over to BASIL's house to help him take care of his plants!" "That's a good idea, AUBREY!" HERO smiles at AUBREY. "Yeah, for once you actually have a brain! We can maybe even look through his PHOTO ALBUM while we're there!" KEL kinda-yells. "I agree, AUBREY. It's a good way to get him to be introduced to (Y/N)!" MARI smiles at the group, seemingly ignoring KEL's rude remark towards AUBREY's intelligence. You nod, BASIL seems like a pretty nice person from what you've heard.
Seeing as everyone agrees (except OMORI, but he's probably fine with it), you all leave the picnic to head to VAST FOREST and BASIL's house. You chat with the group a bit to get more comfortable with them. It doesn't take long to reach BASIL's garden. You look at the flowers. Sunflowers, lily of the valley, roses... Oh! A teal haired boy with a flower crown is watering some flowers you don't recognize... that must be BASIL! "Hey, BASIL!" KEL runs up to the teal-hair boy. "We brought a new person MARI met and are gonna help you water your plants!" BASIL looks up. "Oh? Alright!" He smiles at you. "Hello, my name's BASIL! What's yours?"
"Oh, I'm (Y/N). Nice to meet you, BASIL!" You wave to BASIL. "Nice to meet you too, (Y/N)!" BASIL looks back to his flowers. "We should probably start watering the flowers now." Everyone grabs a watering can and begins to help BASIL water his flowers. "After this, want to look through my PHOTO ALBUM?" BASIL asks. "Sure! After all, (Y/N) hasn't seen it before!" MARI says. BASIL smiles. "Yeah! Plus, I took some really nice photos of some plants I took the seeds of. I'm thinking of making a garden of flowers from different places!"
BASIL talks about flowers and photos as you and the others water plants. When you finish, you all head to BASIL's house to look through the PHOTO ALBUM. KEL grabs some snacks from where MARI had set up a picnic before on the way. BASIL sits, places his PHOTO ALBUM down, and opens it. He allows everyone to read the captions, until he reaches some he hasn't yet written next to yet. "These are still a work in progress on the captions, so I'll just describe them!" BASIL says. He begins to point out the plants in the photos, talking about what kinds of plants they are and the effects they have.
"Huh? There's a new photo, but it's flipped over... one second!" BASIL picks up the photo. "H-huh? What photo is this? I don't remember taking it, but..." BASIL stares at the photo, seeming anxious. Suddenly he looks shocked and horrified. "I- M-MARI... she.. she's.."
What? Where- oh. You're back in VAST FOREST. How did you get here? Last thing you remember was looking through BASIL's photos in his house... whatever. You make your way through the forest back to the playground. On the way, you pet a FOREST BUNNY to increase the length of this last paragraph of the part. This is required to make the paragraph seem longer than it really is.
